A new news article has been published at TrekToday:

Jason Isaacs, Star Trek: Discovery’s Captain Lorca, claims that he has been blocked on Twitter by William Shatner. “I’ve been blocked by...

guessing shatner's politics are a little more conservative than issacs'.

I saw this story on the cover of Who Gives a Fuck Magazine.

Agreed. Drama between actors is so tedious and pointless.

That being said, since we're at it:
Isaacs said:
The unkindest cut of all. In what way have I broken the prime directive Captain? Was it the end of sentence minor-key uptick? The quizzical eyebrow (and blue eyeliner)? The just too-tight uniform? Forgive me my sins – it’s an homage, I swear.”

That's the most passive-aggressive whiny rant about the most inconsequential "slight" I've read in a long while.

All cockblockery aside, as far as I'm concerned, they can both still be twittering twits

Edit: Who tought day taw a puttytat

Issac is right, Shatner doesn’t need to be on the show. He’d be a distraction at this point.
Thing is, Shatner would likely agree with him. He's always been staunchly against stunt casting and cameos without some meaningful purpose for the character's existence. Not entirely sure how old Shatner could legitimately be in this show in the first place, unless he was playing one of Kirk's ancestors.

I read a bit about this after it happened, finding it extremely odd - it looks like Shatner has proxy individuals on-staff controlling the day-to-day operations of his Twitter account, feed and other administrative duties. If he has SnapChat, Insta, FB or other social media outlets, they probably maintain that as well. It's entirely possible these "blocking" actions aren't being cleared by him. Hopefully, with the buzz this particular action has taken, he may take a second look at the criteria by which it occurred. It may have all been just some odd misunderstanding/accident.

Social media is a cesspool. Complete and utter cesspool
 No argument there.

Would TrekBBS be considered social media? Maybe in the traditional sense, but these days the definition may have changed to apply to more "modern" variants (Insta, FB, etc.). I'm honestly not sure.

I don't think a BBS fits the criteria of contemporary social media/networking platforms.

The most amazing thing for me is that Jason Isaac is saying any thing at all about this silly thing....
And what he said, the way he said it... He is a total child... So strange..

No. TrekBBS is a forum, to which there is social structure, order, a purpose, often a unified one. Social media, ala Twitter/facebook etc... are just platforms. To compare it to a real world equivalent, TrekBBS is a club. Twitter is a street corner
