Syfy Channel has just greenlighted the long-awaited Sharktopus movie, to be directed by cult monster auteur Roger Corman.

sometime in 2010.

From the B-movie man himself. So much for NBC Universal's property SyFy to "Imagine Greater"...

This movie idea just sounds awful. Not even movie of the week quality. This is strictly Friday night schlock.

I'm now officially waiting for Sharktopus v. Mansquito to be greenlit. I've been waiting my entire life for such an opus!

Maybe Sharktopus will be the hero in the sequel when an asteroid is about to hit earth which is only populated by 10 speaking parts.

Is this what was left after Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus (another great SyFy movie)?

Like, they merged together to form an even sillier movie monster.

One of these days I hope to see one of these awesome SyFy movies on the big screen.
Just setup a HD projector at your home and pop in a DVD of some SyFy original movie and enjoy yourself. Films like these will not get special limited event screenings even digitally at the cinema.
