No, I'm not asking to borrow anyone's glasses.

What kind of rig do you all use to post at this here BBS (and do, you know, other stuff)? Whether your on a Mac, PC, Linux or a Commodore 64 (in which case kudos for getting online, that's quite a feat!) let us know how much power you've got churning out all of those 1's and 0's.

I'll start :)

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (Release Candidate 1)

Processor: AMD Phenom 9500 Quad Core 2.2GHz

Hard Drive: 500GB SATA Drive + 320GB SATA Drive (External)

RAM: 6GB DDR2 800 RAM

Video: ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB + 19" Gateway FPD1975W LCD Monitor + 23" Samsung LNR238W LCD TV

Audio: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic + Polk Audio RM705 5.1 Surround Sound System

Input: Logitech MX Revolution mouse + Logitech MX5500 Bluetooth
Keyboard + Logitech G25 Racing Wheel

I have the new MacBook.

That's all I know. I've never really paid attention to computer specs.

Although I will say I was about to post a picture of my chest, because I misread the title as "Share your pecs!"

Ah, trying to find out who has the biggest e-peen, huh? Alright, I'll play.

CPU: E8400 Dual Core 3.0GHZ
Memory: 2GB DDR2
Hard Drive: 250GB SATA Drive
Video Card: 8800 GT 512MB
Monitor: 22in Acer X223 at 1680x1050
Keyboard: Cheap ass $8 Keyboard. Got a mouse with it too.
Mouse: MX 400 Laser Mouse

I'll let Shameless start that thread.

Not my current computer, but the one I'm planning to buy within the next month or so:

Processor: Intel Core i7 920
Memory: 3gb DDR3 Triple Channel
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EX58
Hard Disks: 2x 1gb (not sure which brand yet)
Graphics: 896mb nVidia GeForce GTX275
Optical Drive: 6x Blu-Ray/HD-DVD, 16xDVD-R/RW drive
PSU: 700w Quiet, Dual Rail
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit

Sounds like an awesome set-up, although I'd recommend the 64-bit version of Vista, as the 32-bit will limit your RAM upgrade ability to 3GB.

For compatibility's sake, I'm going to stick with 32-bit. I plan to upgrade to Windows 7 before too long.

My workstation Arrakis:

CPU: AMD Athlon 2400 XP+
Memory: 2x256MB + 1x512MB DDR SDRAM
Motherboard: Asus A7N8X
Videocard: A-Open Nvidia FX5600
Controllers:
Miro PCTV card
Promise TX4 SATA 300
Hard Drives:
Seagate 500GB SATA x2
Seagate 1TB SATA
Western Digital 250 GB ATA
Western Digital 320 GB ATA
Western Digital 1TB (3.5" external USB disk)
Western Digital 500GB (2.5" external USB disk)
Optical Drives:
Pioneer DVD-ROM
Pioneer DVD-R
Floppy Drive:
Teac 3.5" floppy drive
Keyboard:
ancient Logitech Wireless Keyboard
Mouse:fancy multiple coloured led optical mouse
Case:
ancient Chieftec "good thief that will steal this" bigtower (with 4 case fans)

Apart from the hard drives and the sata controller, everything is from 2003 or earlier.
Linux runs fine on this setup. Could use a bit of extra RAM, but new DDR RAM is too expensive.

I forgot:
lots of dust.

I'm with RJ, I really don't know and I really don't care. I use a company-issued laptop that gets replaced every couple of years by something better both at work and at home. All I care about is that it performs well enough for me to do my job.

Not long ago my system died on me - in panic I just grabbed the first best thing I saw on the shelve in a pooter-shop:

Acer Aspire M7720
(I have added a few things to it though)

Vista HP (Yuck!)
Intel® Core™ i7 processor Extreme Edition (@ 2,67 GHz) with Intel® X58 chipset
4 GB DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTS 150 and EzCAP USB to DVI adapter (this way I can hook up three monitors -or as I will do once I find the digital TV I want; two monitors and a TV)
Realtek High Definition Audio (whatever that means) 7.1 channel
Loads of different slots for cards and an abundance of USB ports and whatnot front top and back
580 GB plus 2 x 1 TB internal and 1 TB + 500 GB eSATA
Generic 2,4 GHz wireless keyboard & optical mouse - I usually don't keep a keyboard/mouse for more than a year or two at a time, those things get really disgusting and are almost uncleanable...

I had a few problems finding all the software I need in 64-bit, but I think I'm all packed now!

Put it in the dishwasher... seriously.

Actually I take it apart and only put in the keys attached to the top face so I don't have to wait forever for it to dry.

GPU: 9600m GT GDDR3
HDD: 250 GB 5400rpm
Wifi a/b/g/n

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate RC1 x64 (64bit).
