'SGU' Movie Would Have Been A Stargate Movie

You know where they should wrap up SGU? Two part episode of Doctor Who. Deserted ancient ship; uncharted space; alien monster potential; and humans searching for God in the background radiation of the universe. It really sounds like a Doctor Who story when you think about it.

They're not searching for God though, and to be honest I would rather never see Stargate again than see it tainted by the Who-verse.

Am I the only person who didn't want the stargate revealed to the world? I think it's a bad idea, although I'm interested to know how it would have played into the plot of the SG-1 movie. But I liked the fact that the Stargate program was the worst kept secret in the world.

My big worry would be, it would be too full of the IOA, I always hate it when they popped up in Stargate and skipped that chapter in homecoming.

I think that ending the series/franchise by revealing the Stargate would have been fine. Having to deal with the revelation on a consistent basis in a series would have gotten old quick.

I wonder if this is the case or if the producers are trying to shaft all those Stargate faithful that shunned SG-U. "See! We were going to make a movie with YOUR favorites but NOOOOO you wanted to make SG-U drown."

Depends how clever the writers were. The right approach could make the whole thing fascinating. The wrong approach would be dull as dishwater.
