8. This one was really pretty good! It focused more on the adventure of their situation and less on the characters. That worked out pretty well. They way they handled the LA guy running into Guinn was pretty clumsy. It was as if he had no escort. It was weird.

It's nice to know what the general mission of Destiny is. They should focus on that. Instead, it looks like next week we get a tale of revenge. Kind of pedestrian compared to Destiny's grand mission but we'll see.

It's too bad Guinn is killed, or at least her body. It was rather nice! This seems aimed at amping up the emo aspects, which is not what I want. So, I'm leary about that development.

Give me more like this week, please!

Great episode. I truly feel this should of been the final episode of season 1. If we could of squeezed out some episodes out of season 1 and put these in there instead then i feel the show would be in such better shape ratings wise.

Now we have a mission, and a crew in control of Destiny. Finally.

I totally agree with this. This series has too much filler. This was the logical end to season 1. If this were the first season finale, we'd all have been pumped up for season 2.

As it actually played out, I was not interested in the LA takeover bid and didn't really cared who lived or died. The resolution was OK but didn't take us anywhere.

Destiny's mission is where it is at!

Im too sad to put up another thread. What more needs to be said. I thought they be higher, way higher.

Why would they be way higher? The people who have stopped watching won't have any clue that this episode was great so that they could make a point to watch it. Shoot, the people who do watch don't even know that.

The ratings eroded over time as people slowly got burned out on the series. There will be no quick rebound. If the series actually improves, consistently improves not just occassionally, it will take awhile for the word of mouth to get out and for people to change their habits. It'll be a slow process.

This was just one good (maybe great) episode. We still have yet to see if they can sustain this level week in, week out. So, we're just at the very first step of that process.

You know, this epsiode was actually somewhat decent. The plot itself was kind of generic, not much really happened, and I'm still a bit confused about what Destiny's mission actually is. But the episode is had some fun moments, like Wray finding Eli's t-shirt in Ginn's room, and Brody, Volker, and Eli discovering the bridge. Hell, even Robert Knepper had a line that made me smile ("this room's bigger than mine.")

I guess now that everyone else has found the bridge they can move out of that tiny and cramped control room and establish the bridge as their proper command post. Be all proper sci-fi like with Young in the command chair and everyone else at the various stations. It might actually be cool.

Once again, despite the aforementioned line, Robert Knepper is essentially wasted. One has to wonder why such a big deal was made out of casting him since he's done shit all in the episodes he's been in. It looks like next week he might finally be doing something, but so far he's been on the sidelines and practically non-existent.

Eli snapping at Dr. Perry about proper behaviour with the stones seemed unnecessarily harsh. While he might not enjoy the sight of his girlfriend making out with Rush, everyone else who uses the stones has sex with their lovers and indeed on one of the Kino webisodes we learn that the people on Earth who volunteer for stone swap sign forms agreeing to let their bodies be used in a sexual manner. So Eli has no right getting after Dr. Perry for doing what everyone else is allowed to do.

^ In fact, during a season one episode (the title of which I cannot currently recall), he seemed quite keen on having a similar good time with some girl at a bar while he and Chloe were both on Earth (or with Chloe, for that matter)... while in the body of some other person. Definite hypocrite moment, though I suppose hypocrisy is at least credible characterization.

I'm not particularly excited about Destiny's mission. Maybe it's because at the start of the series the Ancients were all mysterious, and kind of interesting... and then that one episode they had LelooDallasMultipass ancient woman show up in the arctic or whatever and they rapidly devolved into a horribly cheesy and cliched sci-fi race. Stargate hasn't done mystery and intrigue well since pretty early in SG-1's run.

It better be one hell of a message embedded into the universe, but I'm not optimistic.

Well, the fact that they've used footage from the Kinosodes in the show proper (like Riley's funeral) is a pretty good indication that the people making the show count them. As is the fact that they're made by the people doing the show, written by the writers, acted by the actors, shot on the sets...

Obviously, the episodes and movies are canon. The Kino webisodes are likely canon as well, for reasons stated above. But I don't think any of the books or games are canon in anyway.

First, the novels which were written as direct sequels of the original movie obviously have to be disregarded as non-canon. I've never heard any indication Fandemonium's SG-1 and Atlantis novels are meant to be canon, and since most of the Stargate games that were in devlopment have been cancelled anyway, there's nothing to discuss. Though I suppose you might have a point regarding the X-Box SG-1 game that was in development several years ago, since footage from that was used in the episode Avatar.

The universe is expanding in all directions. There is no "center" from which we are expanding. It's why you find the background radiation left over from the Big Bang everywhere.

I'm gonna make a weird prediction for tonight's episode that will probably end up being completely wrong.

Can't say exactly how it's gonna come about, but I think Ginn won't really be dead and somehow Ginn and Perry are going to wind up sharing the same mind, setting up a love triangle between Ginn/Perry, Rush and Eli.
