i haven't SG-U intensely...but it seemed to me that there's a part of Greer that almost seems suicidal...why he's willing to jump right in with the kidney donation -- and NOT getting painmedicine, at least for the painful test.

I don't think of Greer as suicidal. He just wants to get done whatever needs to be done without any consideration for self-preservation.

Maybe it's not a healthy state of mind, but it's also not suicidal.

I agree. I didn't get the feeling it was suicidal, so much as either having such a soldier mentality that he's willing to do whatever it takes for the mission, and to protect what's important (in this case, a scientist helping to get the crew home), or maybe he feels some guilt for killing (he killed a guy to end up in isolation at Icarus base, right?), and is trying to find retribution.
Either way, it seemed more out of want to help others than to intentionally endanger himself.

- Episode gets a lower score for me cause it focuses on TJ, a horrid character and the whole love triangle times two.
Honestly, while TJ was kinda screwed over once the pregnancy subplot popped up, she's still salvageable, unlike Chloe and Scott, who are liked by practically no one.

I liked the episode, though the commerical was confusing.
I am really happy for both Rush and Eli.
I also wish to see Gin and Dr. Perry again, becuase I have always like Gin, even before she was in this show. I never seen Perry, but she's cute.

So far in Season 2.5 they seem to gain more than they lose:

Deliverence: Chloe fixed and Telford back.

Twin Destines: Duplicate parts and supplies from the other Destiny and another new shuttle.

Alliances: Greer and Wray did not have to die from radiation because there bodies were swapped.

Hope: Vocker operated on and healling, Ginn and Amanda alive and not only that, since there in the ship, Amanda can help help with medical and techical problems and Ginn can help with tech stuff to.

hey, the series is ending and unless them make an animated series about it, I like that they are finally getting some help. Voyager happened the same way.

For the last 10 episodes (almost seems like it, to me) they keep showing the same clips in the "previously on SGU" parts that have little or nothing to do with the episode that is about to start.
"I killed Riley with my bare hands"
What does that have to do with Ginn?

No, that was because he beat Telford up.

The intros for the show have always dwelled on the most random aspects of previous episodes. Young confessing he killed Riley just goes up there with:

-Wray: "Rush and Young are bumping heads. Not sure which is the better option."

-Wray: "You shouldn't have left him on that planet."
Young: "You think I don't know that?"

-Scott: "I'm telling you, this ship came here for a reason!"

There's actually two parts to the 'previously' intros.
The first part of the intro is changed every 10 episodes. Purpose is to remind viewers what happened last season. The second part of the intro brings up scenes which might be relevant to the episode.

What program do they use to replace the music, but to keep the sound like dialogue and background noises?

Any video editing software can do that, since only the bit with Numa Numa is being edited and that's the only sound in that sequence.

Greer continues to be my favorite character of SGU.

TJ doing surgeries wouldn't seem so hard to swallow if instead she'd had about 2 years of med school before financial circumstances forced her to leave and join the Air Force ending up as a medic.

Amanda Perry & Gin are great additions to the recurring cast.

Brody & Volker are my favorite duo.

Vanessa James & Lisa Parks are the best reason to stay on that ship.

Actually, I think they over-did Greer this time. He's my favorite character, too, but this time his heroism was just a little too messianic. [shrugs] Maybe it's just this head cold making me grouchy.

Those aren't nearly as annyoing as the juxtaposition from the season 1 opening sequence:

(I paraphrase)
Rush: "We're several billion lightyears from home"
Scott:"We are on a ship, but we have no idea where we are in relation to Earth."

WTF, he just TOLD us!
