SG Fan loses weight to fit into costume

Found this article on the Daily Records website earlier and I thought it was kind of weird that the motivation to lose weight was so that this fan could fit into an SG costume that was worn by one of the cast on the show.

Here's the link:
http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/w...-costume-worn-by-star-of-show-86908-23390195/

As you can see it's listed under weird news.

I've never been the type of fan who'd buy a piece of clothing worn by an actor and then want to wear it, that's what replicas are for, aren't they?

The American is lost here. How much weight is "three stone"? I thought the UK went all metric?

Anyway, it's a bizarre motivation, but whatever works.

Not quite all metric, things such as a persons weight and height, and distances say between London and Glasgow woulbe be given in miles.

For things like temapture, buying grocerys it's sold in metric.

But back on topic, if that motivation works, that's a good thing.

What's more startling to me is that she obtained the costume at an Amanda Tapping convention. There's an entire convention where the only subject is Amanda Tapping?

Probably just her shorthand way of referring to it. I often refer to conventions by who the guests were. E.g., all Vulkons were called Vulkon, but when I say "remember at the Patrick Stewart convention...", my friends know exactly which one I'm talking about.

Good for her!
I plan to buy a Shatner costume from TUC or Gen so I won't have this problem. :)
