SG-A Ratings update...

There's nothing like waiting for the SciFi Channel to bestow its tried and true wisdom upon the rest of us, is there?

I'm surprised I care, actually, but my glacial viewing of season four has finally seen some improvement. In the first nine episodes, six where below average or poor, but three of the last four have been either great (Tabula Rasa) or good (The Seer; Miller's Crossing).

Yeah they've got down to a real science. When I went though the fourth season on DVD I found that I liked more than I did when first aired, so I think it wound up being better than most people thought it did.

Regarding renewal, according to Joe Mallozzi they won't hear one way or the other for a couple of months yet, they didn't hear until late October early November last year.

As for the threat of an SAG strike five members of the core cast of six are SAG members and TPTB have said that if a strike does happen it will shut down production.

I'm making a guess here, but I'll bet it's Rachel Luttrell who isn't a SAG member.

Actually, I'm wrong. She moved to LA as a teenager made guest appearances in a number of US shows which I guess would require SAG membership unless the Canadian equivalent has some sort of reciprocal arrangement going on with SAG like SAG does with Equity (the British union).

On thinking about it, I suspect it's David Hewlett.

The question is can SCI FI affrod to let it go...Maybe but it will hit the network hard and MGM will certainly not give SCI FI any future Stargate projects.

I keep getting the sense the writers want 7 seasons but they should come up with ideas to end the show after 6. Universe must not air until the franchise has had a break, we all know it but MGM seems blind to it all.

Hewlett lives in the US and said he initially planned on filming his movie in the US but it was cheaper to go over the border - so I'm fairly certain he is a SAG member.

Ratings are in...

Ratings are in for the third Atlantis episode of the new season, Broken Ties the episode saw an up-tick of one-tenth of a point from the previous week, pulling in a 1.2 average household rating

Atlantis tied Eureka as the highest rated original drama on SCI FI Channel for the week.

According to executive producer Joseph Mallozzi, "The Daedalus Variations" matched the season premiere the following week, with a 1.3 rating.

ratings actually rising and the TIVO ratings should remain quite high too
