SG:A DVD movies?

Yes. The first one is filming later this year, but IIRC, the producers think it's likely that it and the next new SG-1 movie won't be out until '10.

There is only one Atlantis movie being made as of right now and is supposed to air in the fall.

Mallozzi seems to think next year is more likely:

“On that note…if you were a betting man, would you put money on the SGA and SG1 movies being released in ‘09 or is 2010 a more likely target?”
Answer: If I was a betting man? 2010.

^^ They most definitely are choosy. You can be sure we'll see the SG teams battling giant mutant Goauld larvae, prehistiric Wraith dinosaurs, and genetically engineered Replicator Asgard-Furling hybrids (their leader played by Connor Trinneer, or some other Trek vet). Set of course, on a small medival renassaince fair villiage planet. ;)

I don't think we'll be looking at Manquito 2 here. :p:lol:

^Hey, they can always bring back Corin Nemic, and have him gate to a world inhabited by Mansquitos.
Stargate-Wraith vs Manquistoes! Coming soon to Sci Fi! :D

Are there solid plans underway for SG:A movies to be released on DVD?

Unlike the SG-1 movies, the Atlantis one is being produced in partnership with the Sci-Fi Channel and so will appear on there as well.

Oh good. Seems odd to do it any other way for either of the Stargates - skiffy doesn't seem so terribly, terribly choosy about what it airs. ;)

It's not odd at all. Sci-Fi seriously pissed Sony and everyone involved in producing SG-1 off by canceling the show when they thought they were going to get another year.

Hey now! That village set was taken down to make room for the Universe sets! :p

The best news is they can't make any new shows after Universe, they will just be out of room!

SG-A will film in the spring and I know there hoping for a 2009 release but we shall see (SCI FI got airing rights for this one pre DVD release ? that right).

I know the plot will be a retooled script of the original 6th season opener, which Gatworld has posted and other 6th season episodes, and apart from one SEASON 6 sounded promising :(.

Well some friends of mine just got back from the P4 convention in London where Kavan Smith told everyone that as far as he was aware the SGA movie has been "temporarily shelved due to the current economic climate" and that MGM is hoping to go ahead in the summer but will "wait and see" - whatever that means. He seemed unsure as to whether it would even happen.

Which, ironically, was a small medieval renaissance fair village. :p
