No Altaira = fail. Bullshit poll. Next.
In no particular order ...
1. Aeryn Sun (Farscape)
2. Amy Pond (Doctor Who)
3. Dana Scully (X-Files)
You can't beat those three in SF/F.
Jean Grey, Chiana, and Amy Pond.
I protest the lack of Ezri in this poll, though.
Yvonne Craig (Batgirl)
Voted for Wonder Woman(Lynda Carter), Seven of Nine and Deanna Troi
The poll had too many omissions for me to add a vote; no Morguse, no Gabrielle, no Kaylee (despite every other woman from firefly being on the list) no Tegan or Zoe...guess there is a limit to how many they could put on there but some of the omissions were odd.
I went with Leia, Willow and either Scully or Amy Pond, can't actually remember now!
Really tough to pick just three women on the list (not to mention the write-in possibilities), but I went with Cordelia Chase, Sarah Walker and Seven of Nine.
For the men I voted for Han Solo, Indiana Jones and Rick Deckard because Harrison Ford was a god amongst men in the 1980s - too bad most of his career since then has been defined by looking very bored in dull movies.
John Crichton, Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn), Trip Tucker
Men: Fox Mulder, the Fifth Doctor and Tyrion Lannister.
Women: Olivia Dunham, Princess Leia, and a character that Eva Green played
oh, the other bloke i voted for was Arthur in Merlin
Men: Dean Winchester (Supernatural), Rick Grimes (The Walking Dead) and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.)
Women: Bo (Lost Girl), Morgan (Camelot) and I filled in my own...
Dana Bright (The Dead Zone)
She's the one who came to mind when I saw this topic.
Dana Bright's a great one. I've only seen up through S3 of The Dead Zone, but does she ever come back?
^ She comes back for one episode (5x04).
Cameron (who wasn't on the list...)
I only voted for the Girls. I thought I could vote for the guys if I just chose my favorite characters, but it does say Sexiest, and I didn't want to be ambiguous.
I didn't vote for the girls for the same reason.
for guys, though (tough choice), I put: Aragorn, McCoy, and then I wrote in Alpha from Dollhouse. He's really probably the top for me, even if he's not exactly a main character on the show.
The results are in: http://www.sfx.co.uk/2012/03/27/top-200-sexiest-characters-in-sci-fi/
The top pick for the men is painfully predictable, but the women's #1 is a surprise, a particularly nice (or not?) one for the Trekkies. Women's top 10 turned out to be a little bit more unpredictable than the men's.
The SFX people decided to make it more interesting by pairing up the top 100 sexiest women with top 100 sexiest men and examine how the pairing would work. It's quite amusing, because some couples turned out completely random, while others... made the staff write "we haven't fixed the poll, honest". I bet that taking a look at some of the pairings was what made them decide to do this whole 'love match' thing in the first place... Check out #67, #60, #7, and especially #5.
Wow. Some of those pairings should keep fanfic writers going for years . . . .
And some of these pairings have kept fanfic writers going for years.
It is? I must be getting old, because I was astonished to see The Vampire Diaries/Supernatural dominate the top ten like that. Kids nowadays! Anyway Spock would kick Damon's butt for trying to move in on Uhura. And thus a million bad fanfics were born...
I honestly thought the "predictable" male choice would be Han Solo or Fox Mulder. Maybe John Crichton.
