So, my wife, my two kids, some of our friends, and I have joined SFI, and we have been encouraging other friends to join, with the intention of creating a local "ship" - there isn't one within at least an hour and a half's drive, at present. And really, I'm the one tasked by everyone involved so far with bringing it all together. But I have to say, SFI's instructions for doing this read like tax code. Our purpose for joining is to meet people and have fun - and fun is not tax code.
Let me add that I'm a roleplaying game enthusiasts - 40 manuals to play a game does not scare me. Maybe I'm getting older, or maybe work is taking too much of my ability to focus, but this seems complicated.
Does anyone here have any experience with doing this, and any insights or useful tips that they can offer?
