‘Resident Alien’ Drama Based On Dark Horse Comics Series Gets Syfy Pilot Order

Syfy has made its first pilot order off its 2018 development slate with Resident Alien, a drama based on the Dark Horse comics series by Peter Horgan and Steve Parkhouse, from Universal Cable Productions, Dark Horse Entertainment and Amblin TV.

Resident Alien is described as a dark, twisted and comedic fish-out-of-water story. Adapted for television by Chris Sheridan (Family Guy), it follows a crash-landed alien named Harry who, after taking on the identity of a small-town Colorado doctor, slowly begins to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his secret mission on Earth — ultimately asking the question, “Are human beings worth saving?”

NBC Developing Horror Drama ‘Cul-De-Sac’ As Part Of Possible ‘Blumhouse Presents’ Franchise

NBC has put in development horror drama Cul-De-Sac from Scream: The TV Series writer Brian Sieve, director Larysa Kondracki (The Fix), Blumhouse Television and Universal Television.

Written and co-executive produced by Sieve, Cul-De-Sac is a serialized drama about three families living in a suburban cul-de-sac who begin to experience terrifying events and come to realize there’s something sinister invading their perfect middle-class dream.

Resident Alien: This could be funny or horrible
Cul-De-Sac: sounds like it could be a supernatural soap opera.

At least neither involve a cop show angle.

I haven't actually read Resident Alien, but I've seen some of the solicitations, and one of my first thoughts was that it sounded like something that could make a great TV series. Guess I'm not the only one who had that thought.
