Contest: ENTER SF&F Avatar Contest: A New Hope!

This contest is about franchise starters.

For the purposes of this contest a franchise is something that had a spin-off(not just direct sequels!) of any kind (doesn't have to be in the same medium), and a starter is the first entry that made it out, so first movie, pilot episode, first comic...

I'll allow sub-franchises, so for example you can use RDJ's Iron Man because it started the MCU, you don't have to go back to the first comics appearance of Iron Man, but you also can, and if something has a different first entry in production order or airdate order(wonder what that could be... ) either is fine.

I'll be fairly liberal when allowing entries so don't worry much about it just get cracking on those avatars.

Heck, I'll even allow first entries in planned franchises that never made it past the first one because that one failed financially or critically or both.

Let's say two entries per person, standard rules apply.

As long as it's from the same intro that's in the pilot it's fine.
But as Kai said, it needs to be a bit smaller to fit the rules.

I'm not sure if they showed the regular opening in the Farscape pilot, and I don't have access to it to check. Anybody know offhand if they did or not?

OK, for my second entry, I decided to go with one with a bit of a different trajectory than what I was originally thinking.

Mass Effect

Started with a video game, spawned sequel games, mobile games, a spin-off game, an animated movie, books, comics, merch... and apparently an amusement park ride!

Anyway, great entries so far, I'll keep the contest open through the weekend, so still time to enter.

I had just kind of assumed that they showed it at first, but then I remembered that a lot of shows don't actually have the usual credits in the pilot, but then to complicate matters some will go back and add it for syndication.
