I beg your pardon but I happen to be a DEEP douche bag thankyouverymuch.
Well, unless I know you in real life and am unaware of it, my comment was not intended for you.
A perfect example is a friend of mine who I really like in every other regard, but she has a shambles of a love life. She consistently dates guys who she makes out with or sleeps with right away, and they then conveniently lose her number or their phone breaks, or they simply ditch her with no reason. She then comes to me asking what is wrong with the guys she dates, and I tell her that the only common factor in her dating life is her. But she refuses to believe she is the reason these guys leave.
And I don't have any of her dates or makeout sessions taped, so I have no clue what she is doing to scare them away. But I have a theory - Yes, she loves Sex and the City, and she also loves guys who will be her "play thing" (her words, not mine). In other words, she gets a big thrill out of making guys do uncomfortable things for her, like dress up as a woman, paint her nails, ect. I personally wouldn't put up with that from any woman, so I can see why this would be a problem for other guys.
Re: no strong male characters - while I tend to avoid crime dramas, I have no issues with the guy characters on such shows as Law&Order, and the CSI shows. They aren't exactly realistic, but the guys aren't wimps.
Re: the guys on Lost - every main character on that show, guy and girl, is messed up. The funny thing is that the most normal character on the show is Hurley, and he's the one who ends up committed!
