Yep, I'm enjoying both shows greatly and I want them both to survive. I'm glad to hear that Seth is feeling a bit optimistic, or at least breathing again!

I remember kids at school actually thought he was a badass in that movie. Actually, he might have been, I haven't seen the movie since it came out.

Orville isn't anywhere near as heavy-handed about it as Discovery is.
I know this is sacrilege (and something I dare not say on in the Discovery forum), but I haven't looked forward to a show on a weekly basis the way I do The Orville, since probably season four of TNG.

Comics writer and Star Trek novelist Peter David wants to writer The Orville novels. I would love to see this happen, I admit some of his humor did get a bit annoying in his Star Trek series New Frontier, but I think he could be a great fit for The Orville.
Orville novels would be awesome! And yeah, Peter David would be a perfect for the series. I mean, hell, he can write some genuinely funny material with stuffy Star Trek characters, this should be a walk in the park.
I just remembered that Seth McFarlane actually wrote a novelization of A Million Ways to Die in The West, so if they did do novels there is a very slight chance we could get one from McFarlane himself. I would love that, it would be a great oportunity for him to really develop the world and characters in a lot more depth.
