Set blueprint exchange

Yes, the drawing and handwriting style look like Sternbach, but since Jein led the modeling of the 6' and 2' Enterprise-D models for ILM, it would make sense that he had them in his files.

From the TMP Official Blueprints set.

There's no date on it, so it's possible it got misfiled, hence the eBay seller lumping it in with the other artwork from '87. But Greg Jein and his folks did build the maquettes for the Dyson sphere, so it would make sense that he had a sketch of how the doors would open. Not sure what the drawing on the flip side is supposed to be, though.
Flip side drawing is likely supposed to be the interior of the sphere, possibly from the view of the hatch

Maybe a video game like Star Citizen…I don’t know if it was the Drex Files or Eavesdropping with Johnny—but I think an early concept for Shinzon’s Scimitar was a more vertically oriented design, like WALL-E’s “Axiom,” itself inspired by John Berkey:

NES had this 1986 title called GRADIUS that looked similar.

It was around this time period that FASA game ships had a harder edge after they lost the Trek license.

It screams “video game art.”

This one is interesting in that one of the pages (the dorsal view labeled "STROBES") has a hand drawing of the Ten Forward windows; I wonder if that drawing is related to either the 4' model, or the refurbishing of the 6' model for Generations?
dated 1987 or so and build notes. I'd say it's for the 6 foot D model for Farpoint.

There was a lot of features planned for the model that never realy got used on screen, like gas projections in the bussards.

And now for the next batch. Still a lot more backlog to go (especially with concept art and those Ent-D blueprint notes found by @NervousEnergy)

This one took quite a bit due to the sheer volume - this batch adds 643 images and the Titan gains 132 sheets alone.

More batches coming soon.

[Side note: I need to write a short article what I've learned about the design and transition of corridors from Phase II to TMP to TNG to VOY - research for the Galaxy project]

"Alien Worlds" and "Misc Alien set plans" are having a bit of a reshuffle. The former will be for just sets that are meant to be alien environments (such as outdoors or in mines etc.), with interior sets being in the latter.
This distinction can be problematic when DS9 "Birthright", the colony sets has both Jungle, Courtyard and interior blueprint.

Sci-fi Archive

In addition to accumulating a lot of star trek reference, I have picked up a fair bit of other sci-fi stuff over the years, so I've set up a second archive

Sci-fi Archive: http://scifi.frogland.co.uk/

scifi.png

This is very early days for the Sci-Fi archive, and a lot more is coming, however it won't be quite a large as the main archive. Updates will be incremental and a bit more spaced out.

However if you want to build your own Nautilus, we have both the interior and exterior blueprints.

Love the additions and the SciFi archive!

A couple notes on the Perpetual ships:

- Excalibur Model B through F, and H are not Perpetual-era screenshots or models. Around 2010 the design was remodeled in lower detail to use Cryptic's modular ship customization system (shown in Model B, C, and D). Eventually the ship was never made playable and it was relegated to only a background asset in certain maps, with the "final" model being the one shown on E, F, and H. Personally I think the original Perpetual model was great in comparison, it had a lot more detail.

- 'Sacajawea Model' is not from STO at all, but rather a fan-made model by deg3D.

Good spot on the Cryptic models and fan made model - I've updated the album with these removed.

I've put the Cryptic models to one side on my hard drive in case I ever do a "Cryptic STO" section on the archive.
