Set blueprint exchange

If no-one has already thanked JoeRalat for his excellent behind-the-warp-core photos, allow me to be the first! These offer some excellent new perspectives on the set.

Thanks you, trust me a simple thank you goes a long way for me. I appreciate it. The photos are from the TNG Tech CD. I put together a set to look over my Blueprints. I am happy to share to help.

Also a large number of prints on Flicker are from my action or collection. Barbie and StarTrekReference stuff. I love Trek Graphics, Blueprints, Props, So I try to collect as many reference materials as I can.

I have over 40gig of reference material. Tons of old drawing, prints and photos. Im adding some to my site as often as I can.

Again Happy to help and Thank You ...For the Thanks :D

During season 6 or 7 they did a CD version of there tech book. The cd had every Main set in a 3D VR movie so could look around the ship. It's the best reference for the TNG sets

Its the same Company? I have to check my old cd. What I have learn over the years with online reference, is that they go away. If you or anyone else is into this type of stuff. I would pick up a Tech CD off eBay and rip it to you computer. The benefits to the cd over the link are photos and text.

Been converting the images for online.
Here are some from my site

I could be mistaken about them being the same company - they might have just been commissioned by paramount to convert it for web

Could be, still a good site for free. Again I would try to pick one off eBay don't pay more then $10

Also in pretty sure the audio was major barrett (I know a few people have done the voice) but she read it in the computer voice. So you also get a ton of audio of the computer. Great for fanfilms..etc

Hi Joe.

Had a chance to go over those pics, they help, thanks :)

In regards to the trekCD, that's not the interactive tech manual, is it? I have that, haven't heard of the other one.

No Problem, Yes the interactive tech manual. When I go over my TNG Prints, its the first thing I open. The Software that "Runs" the cd may not work with you PC/Mac,(Too Old) but I just look into the directory and each set is broken down with a number folder. For example 4 is the bridge..etc As long as you have quicktime 7 or higher you should be able to view the content. :D

I have that too, got it for my birthday back in... 95 I think.

Yea, the quicktime files can be run independently, but the linking software is broken. So you can go in the directory if you have quicktime player installed and view each panoramic image group.

Thank you for pointing that CD out. There are several on eBay for about $6.00 total.

I just ordered my copy of the tech manual CD, looking forward to it!

Someone else on Ebay was selling a (pricey) modded version of the disc that was compatible with Windows 7 & 8, so it must be possible somehow.

I wonder if you could run it in compatibility mode as Windows 95? I'll try once I get it.

Compatibility mode, sadly, is not 100% effective. Many years ago, I bought a series of discs similar to the TNG Tech Manual, but for Space Battleship Yamato. It, too, was built natively for Windows 95 & 98. As new operating systems came around, it stopped functioning, starting with XP. All attempts at fiddling with compatibility settings failed. It sounds like someone got the TNG one to work if it's being repackaged on eBay, so it may be as simple as tweaking the compat settings, but it doesn't always work.

Like I said, don't go too crazy trying to get it to work. Everything you need is in the folders. The "Working versions" just helps with spending less time finding the text, audio, and the other files. Even then its not too hard. Everything about the bridge is in one folder, same with the other sets, so you don't have to go looking in a bunch of different folders for the bridge..etc

The captain's chair is the only one that is worth getting to work, and thats just to view the graphics. But I would not go crazy trying to get that to work also.

Yea, as i said too, you can view the videos directly off the CD with QT player, it just wont let you "click and move" to new areas like the actual tour mode would, but it's no great loss. Hell, someonec ould probably string the clips together again (I did stuff like this with QT back in high school).

In regards to compatability mode, it's not a god setting that makes everything work magically, the Tech manual uses DX3, Quicktime player 2, and mostly 16-bit applications. A modern PC uses DX9-12, QT6, and can't run anything below 32bit (unless you're on a 32 bit OS which most Win7, 8 and 10 users are now).
