Set blueprint exchange

I don't think the lower levels were ever shown on screen but I would imagine that it would look similar to the upper level. You can get some good images from episodes on Trekcore, Episodes that come to mind would be Matter of Honor, The Schizoid man

I also think there is one shot in the undiscovered country that the camera goes does the shaft to show the lower level.

Yea, got all those already, was hoping some better behind the scenes photos or something, oh well.

Yea, got Starship mine too.

Man I knew I seen this setup before. I can be a professor when it comes to sets and graphics. lol. Sorry Count! :D lol

If you look at the shot, the airlock is at the end. This is from TNG Ep 11001001 (43:22 Netflix)

Just watched that episode today, didn't even realize that door was there. I feel like an idiot now :S[/QUOTE]

I just watched this ep again and noticed something else. The Master Systems Display in season 1 is different to the later seasons, it actually has wall plugs that go over those two side doors that "cant possibly open" in the later season configuration. You can also see that the light fixtures are different too. I wonder why they stop using them in later seasons (the plugs that is).

I hope this helps, not sure if this is what you are looking for. I had these shots when I was doing research for the set of warpcore prints I have. (Click On Thumbnail)

Can you point the plugs out, I don't see them. I will rematch it and check. :D

They did have a different MSD Graphic. I piece this together from screen grabs. Its one my list of graphics to make.

The image I posted already shows the plug over Geordi's right shoulder.

Here's another one showing the inverted light panels around the MSD.

http://tng.trekcore.com/hd/albums/1x15/11001001_hd_245.jpg <- look past the light, you can see the panel. When I watch the vid itself you see Geordi walk over to the MSD and get a brief shot of the entire plug against the wall where the door normally would be, it seems to take up 1/4 of the walkway (so maybe 2 feet deep?).

I can't get any better screenies then that, blame trekcore :)

Count, I am guessing you mean this (Circled in Red) If so my mistake, I was thinking you where talking about a plug/Wall socket

I went over Season one, and it looks like the Cargo was there for the first season, they put the MSD In front of it. As Count pointed they had different lights, but I think the lights are the same, but we are looking at the back of them. I think they flipped them over for the final versions of the MSD Wall

If you look at this photo you can see some of the changes, I include a photo of the Final MSD Wall, if you look at the ceiling the MSD Wall is in the middle of the Corridor. So to answer the question about the cargo door, it was there for the whole first season.

I will check season 2 and post a update.

More shots of the Cargo Door "Coming of Age"

Season 2 Episode 2 "Where Silence Has Lease" has the updated MSD Wall (No Cargo bay doors) Same old MSD Graphic from season 1

Didn't that same MSD last up through Generations when it was slightly modified to show the shield frequency?

Looks about the same design-wise, but definitely more colorful. Warp core and deuterium tanks detailing has been added but the call-outs look identical. Might be the same picture, just back-lit with colored gels. Difficult to tell.

It was most likely a new graphics. Im a bit of an expert on this! :D When they made the graphics, it was a negative, then it was sprayed with an adhesive to glue the color gels, one it was glued, it was a pain to take apart.

It was much quicker to make a new MSD, with the updates and recolor it with new Film gels.

Its nice to the Evolution of the MSD, Too bad a AGT Version wasn't done.

Thanks for the info. Such cool stuff and amazing talent. Would love to have worked on a project like that. Sadly, different place, different time... :sigh:

Well Lets hope for a TNG Fan Film.

As I was doing research, It seems like the MSD From Season 1&2 Makes it last Appearance in Season 2 QWho. Its not until "Booby Trap" that it makes it back on film. Now the Upgrade to the display was likely done During the break between Season 2 and 3. If you look at the MSD From Season 1&2 and Look at it in Season 3 Some major changes where made.

1.) New Graphics for the Monitor and the Control Buttons.
2.)The Two Small Section Displays on the Left and Right now have a divider
3.) The MSD/Cutaway Screen During Season 1&2 was Sitting up at 90 Degrees, During the upgrade from season 1&2 it was tilted at an angle.

[[ Checks TrekCore ]] Sure enough! My poor old brain muddied that one up...

Thank God for the internet. I think I would be lost by now without it.

Red General...

Thanks for posting all of this stuff, it's amazing the shear volume of information you've aquired. Easily the best thread on the board!

Regards,
Chuck

Thank you Chuck. I will say that this collection isn't just me - the collection is so large because of the help of many members providing images and examining the sets to figure out how they were put together and evolved over time.
