Serious Transformers WRONGness

I just started checking out some of these old eps on the Hub, and YIKES, the animation is a lot worse than I remembered.

It looks like the only time it was actually any good was during the opening miniseries and the '86 movie.

You don't know who Powerglide is? :p

That has gone straight to my Favourites list. :guffaw: Incidentally, G1 Powerglide was the first Transformers toy I ever owned.

actually wait wasnt this series originally made for Japanese audences? that would explain alot.
The characters were from Japanese toy lines (such as Takara and Bandai), but the G1 cartoon was produced for initial release in North America, and later edited for broadcast in Japan. Some of the later series originated in Japan, however, such as Headmasters, Victory, Masterforce, etc.

How would an Autobot have sex with a human? Or do I even want to know?

Well, here's a scene from the Marvel adaptation of the animated movie.

KISS Players should be avoided though. Seriously. There were other instances in both the comics and the cartoon that were a lot sillier (IMO) than Powerglide or Seaspray loving an organic being. Just watch "The Gambler" and pay attention to how at the end of the episode, Optimus and the other Autobots decide that hitting the casinos is perfectly okay. Gambling is fun, kids! Also, there's a scene where Devcon just runs alongside car-mode Smokescreen even though he's shown as a Cybertronian hovercar in other parts of the ep. And few things are more amusing than Prime's entire mind being saved on a primitive floppy disk in the comics. :D
