Serious Transformers WRONGness

USS Triumphant

Vice Admiral

I always thought that calling a country "Carbombia" was a bit wrong, but tonight's episode of G1 Transformers on The Hub pulls up on the onscreen guide as "The Girl That Loved Powerglide". :wtf: :guffaw:

You don't know who Powerglide is? :p

Powerglide is an Autobot. I think you have him confused with the Decepticon Astroglide; he's a slippery one.

I wasn't the only one that made the mistake, though. When we saw the episode description, my son and I turned and looked at each other, and busted up laughing - leaving my wife and daughter looking non-plussed.

OMG is that voice over real?! that scene there where the mechanic guy tells the chick there's alot of thngs he(the autobot) cant do & then he screws in the bolt... uh oh wow thats just... :wtf: :guffaw:

No, those voices are the real ones, and you're right - it seriously sounded like Spike was resentful and wanted to use some Astrotrain on her.

Or maybe I'm confusing matters again. ;)

So? Transformers do have souls, they are called sparks.
Sparks are a retcon introduced in Beast Wars. In G1 they had laser cores. Which I always interpreted as being laser-based holographic storage media combined with optical (quantum) processors. Not little balls of light that can float out of one's body.

Oh, Lord. Really? Are we really going to do this?

Hint 1: The show was about robots looking for energy, yet they passed up the magnetic field of Jupiter, and the leader of the bad guys has a weapon on his arm that uses subspace to tap a black hole out in space somewhere to power it. AND, several of the characters were able to access nth space to move excess mass in and out of, so they could change size and weight (like Megatron again, and Soundwave). So, no. Just... no. :p

Hint 2: Repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

Besides, nothing says that the energy of the laser core couldn't be referred to as the spark, and when a Transformer dies, the last energy is used to bundle whatever data of that bot's systems can be saved and to send it out by something like wi-fi - maybe some super-tech coherent holographic information packet. And that is also referred to as the spark, and is what is gathered into the Matrix. After all, even in G1, there had to be some method of gathering them into the Matrix, after all. "Til All Are One", remember?

The Matrix of Leadership was a retcon introduced in Transformers: The Movie. ;) (The comics also had a Creation Matrix which was just a computer program in Optimus Prime's memory.)
I theorize the Matrix of Leadership works like Trill symbionts, experiencing everything the host body does.

I always thought the concept of female autobots like Arcee was a little strange. Even stranger when she bonded with a little boy.

Of course they made her pink, physically weak compared to every other robot (in one episode, she was unable to even lift Galvatron's gun after he dropped it) and helpless.

The Autobots seemed to think that all of them went in there. Otherwise, I kind of agree with your theory.

Regarding the completely awesome Matrix just being a retcon... shut up. Just shut up!!! (I throw myself on the floor and have a complete hissy fit.)

Elita One led an army of apparently mostly female Autobots successfully enough to maintain a stalemate against Shockwave and the other Decepticons that were left behind for FOUR MILLION YEARS, while their male counterparts in the Ark had it easy, lying around and letting the war pass them by. They may have been designed physically weaker, but they must've had something going for them. Maybe they were much faster. Maybe Blurr was a hermaphrodoodle.
