I agree this would be awesome, but disagree with needing self-contained episodes for a cartoon. Most of the cartoons I've been watching lately - Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, Transformers Combiner Wars, etc - have had ongoing storylines with actual character development. *This* specific one might need that, maybe - although I'd say it depends on whether they'd aim more for a dedicated niche market, or more to try to pull in a general audience. Both have upsides for selling ads, but in my experience, the former is working much better than the latter, lately, for sci-fi/fantasy.I think an animated series based upon STO'S Agents of Yesterday would be perfect. Self-contained episodes (which you need in a cartoon), The Temporal Agents visit all eras, all species, guest stars from all the shows/movies.
Strangely enough, I'd rather see this than a stupid teen angst-y Starfleet Academy series.I'd like to see an animated series next. STAR TREK BABIES. The adorable adventure's of lil' Jimmy, Spock, Bonsey, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu and Chekov at the daycare they attend together.
I stopped reading.I think an animated series based upon STO
What comes next for Star Trek after Discovery? Post your insanely early predictions, and if anyone remembers this when the time comes around, closest gets a no-prize!
I hereby predict Starfleet Academy, a series about the young Kirk, Spock, McCoy and company in the light and fluffy style of a CW superhero series. Not tied to any prior Trek continuity, but inspired by the Kelvinverse's characterisations.
I like your Excelsior idea. Nice!As I've said before, my ideal series would be 25th century Next Next Generation.
I've also had some ideas (arguably not so great ones) about a non-starfleet freighter or Firefly type crew, a human serving on a Klingon ship, and a show which would be a melting pot of concepts from Voyager, Babylon 5, SG Atlantis, and BSG.
I could also see them doing a Kelvin timeline Excelsior show starring John Cho. People have always wanted an Excesior series, and Cho has done TV before...
I think a series set in a fledgling colony might be interesting - it would have a Starfleet presence and a ship attached to it, but there would be lots of civilians trying to make a new life for themselves on a planet far from their homes. Creating a society. Pioneers making the best out of virgin land. Developing trade and relationships with nearby races. But not because Earth has been destroyed. Everybody who is there has their own reason for being there - a fresh start, adventure, hiding from someone...
Because it's a side of Trek you don't see often.
Not even kidding, I'd watch the hell out of a space-cops show based around the Starfleet Judge-Advocate-General's office.
Gorn captain and a Medusan first officer, who are also husband and wife.
