Why is it that as an American in the Upper Great Plains I get an odd sense of smugness that I'll be seeing this shortly after noon tomorrow? It's the same totally unwarranted smugness I feel at seeing episodes by mid-afternoon the day they're transmitted.
In reality, I'll see them two hours or so
after transmission. They have to be transmitted, then someone has to create a stable swarm and I have to download it.
Admittedly, my bandwidth is so high that I frequently get 2.5MB/sec from a good
Doctor Who swarm; I get a warm, fuzzy feeling from that. Also, by using the Internet, I'll be seeing the episode long before most of the rest of North America; that also gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling.
But in reality, even though I'll be watching the episodes in the late afternoon while Britain sees them in the evening, I'll still be seeing it
after they do by a couple of hours.
I dunno. It makes no sense. But I still feel smug.
