Series 6 Confirmed

No big surprise but Piers Wenger confirms in the new DWM that Series 6 starts production in June.

Let the rumor mongering begin!

Stephen Fry will be writing an episode featuring the return of fan favorite the Zarbi!

I want a Paul McGann appearance. RTD didn't like multi-Doctor stories but Moffat doesn't seem to mind. It wouldn't have been fair on Smith to put one in his first season but by S6, he'll be well-enough established for it not to overshadow him. So come on, give us Dr Eight.

In interviews when he's talked about "Time Crash" Mofffat has said that he thinks Multi-Doctor stories are a gimmick that can sustain an eight minute short but not a full episode.

I've got an idea for a story that would feature the Eighth Doctor, albeit only in a sort of flashback. It wouldn't be a big part; indeed, you may not even need McGann, just someone dressed like him in the wig from behind. Still, I'd love to see him somehow. He's my second favourite, after the Sixth Doctor.

^I'd evisiage no multiuple Doctor story until S7, give Smith two seasons to get his feet under the table. I'd imagine it's most likely to feature the Tennant 'fake' doctor from Pete's world as well, though I'd love to see 8 and 9 in there as well. (and 5 and 7)

From what I hear of Eccleston's departure (which is still a bit of a mystery), there's probably not much hope for the Ninth Doctor to feature. For Tennant, it's possible, but I still think unlikely. Perhaps depends on how his career goes. If any Doctor's going to appear, I'd guess Eighth.

But if Moffat considers multi-Doctor stories a gimmick, then we probably had all we're going to get from Time Crash.

I'd love to see 8,9, 10 together.

I too wonder what happened with Eccleston. Ok I know he said he was only gonna be in it for a season but still get the feeling there might have been more to it.

I really think a flashback story would be the best way to go. You can bring back a doctor, but not have a them actually meet each other. Certainly I'd rather see a real doc 8 story (since we only have one) rather than him pop in and meet Smith.

It was a foregone conclusion anyway but nice to see it in writing.

I'd like a McGann appearance sure but I've long since given up hope of it ever happening. End of Time was probably the most logical point for a McGann flashback and we didn't get it then.

When Neil Gaiman confirmed his episode, it was pretty much a done deal.

One thing no one's mentioned yet is whether there'll be another Christmas special - or is the Moffat era retiring the tradition? June does appear to be a bit early for production (it means they'll be filming Series 6 before Series 5 finishes airing), so maybe that suggests the Christmas episode will be filmed as part of that block.

The fact no one's mentioned a Doctor-lite episode for Series 5 suggests to me they aren't filming that extra episode this time around. But there's plenty of time from June to do it.

So they picked the 12th doctor already? After all, a lot of people think Matt Smith will be short lived and booted out. LOL I'm joking.

Yes. They are going even younger and selecting 20 year old Daniel Radcliffe.

If they use the Tennant Doctor from the parallel universe does that truly count as a gimmick, since it's a pre-existing character not Time Lord shenanigans?

"I'm the Doctor: Simply the Doctor. The one, the only, and the best! "

Then Smith shows up at the end.

Title: The Other doctor
