Series 13 not shooting until September

In tv sf terms, the immediate question would be whether Section 31 does shoot as planned once Discovery 3 wraps. Much more immediate.

Discovery shoots in Toronto so product either already wrapped or it's been shutdown and Section 31 won't spin up anytime soon (the restrictions here are tighter and came in earlier than what they have in the U.K).

Disco completed filming at the end of filming, though I imagine post-production could be impacted by coronavirus. Section 31 will almost certainly be delayed.

Yeah, I think it was reported the holiday episode was filmed with the rest of season 12 back last fall. Which means they definitely have had enough time to do post production and therefore there should be no reason why that can't air during the holiday season. Hey, at least it's something we can reliably count on this year. Actually, it's kind of ironic, everyone bitches about how "unorganized" Doctor Who is in recent years, what with frequent gap years and long production delays. Yet Doctor Who is probably one of the few shows in 2020 that will deliver everything it promised for the year.

And I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one who thought something was going on between Yaz and the Master.

Yes, Revolution of the Daleks was shot at the end of the last season. If lock down ends by then, the next season will start shooting as planned in September. If lockdown is still there in September we might have bigger things to worry about.

Deliver on what, actually?

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if filming didn't begin in September even if the lockdown is over. Mostly because even after the lockdowns are finished and everything is reopened, there's still going to be some messes to clean up, and shit will have to be reshuffled accordingly. And even when it does come to TV and movie production, priority is likely going to be given in the early months to productions which had to shut down due to the lockdowns. I'm thinking there's a very real possibility filming of the season won't start until early 2021.

Doctor Who will have aired a full season and a special in 2020, and on time. Given how many shows have already had to cut their seasons short in 2020 or are postponing episodes or even premieres of seasons, that's quite an accomplishment for a show many accuse of being "disorganized."
