Is the error that you indicate here the space in between the doublequote and single quote? If it isn't, then what is the Doornail issue?

Yes, that is the issue. The problem there is that because this is an eBook, depending where it falls in the line and the text size, it's possible to have the quote left on it's on on the previous line. That does not look good at all if that happens.
