Self-casting in Trek Literature

This is something of a tie-in to the 'Cast the Characters of Trek Literature' thread.

When we read the various Trek novels, regardless of what series they tie into, we always think about which actors or celebrities we would cast into those roles, or in some cases who would provide their voice if they were to be represented by CGI. What I was wondering is whether any of you out there cast yourselves into those roles (for non-canon characters that is, not someone like Kirk or Picard, not unless you were that egotistical!;))

I'm one of those people who does just that, but usually it is for characters who have very few, if any, lines to say, and usually just stands or sits there, either with their back to the 'camera', sitting down, or just standing there with a PADD in one hand and a mug of raktajino in the other ("Hmmm, this raktajino is fantastic! The Borg are nothing on us you know!").

I will generally cast myself as Starfleet personel, although I will visualise myself as various aliens, namely Vulcans, Andorians, Bajorans, Romulans, Breen, Cardassians, Betazoids, Trill, Deltans, Vorta, Borg.

What about you?

Considering my acting skills, i'd say i would make a splendid borg drone. Dunno, maybe even a vulcan.

All acting skills aside, i find the Trill species incredibly fascinating. (and the spots are sexy as hell) :)

So all in all, a trill starfleet officer. tactical division.

Never thought about it much before, but I guess I would just be a nonedescript Starfleet guy on the bridge, at one of the aft consoles.

Most of my self-casting tends to make me into the most Mary Sue-ish character it doesn't bear speaking of. Especially when the characters are alien.

I'll take any telepathic species, because telepaths are cool.

Maybe Rennan Konya, because I like T'Ryssa Chen as a character.

I generally don't read myself into a Trek novel, unless it's VOY and it happens to mention Greskrendregtk (or however the hell you spell his name). Why him, you ask? It's because I have had, since day one, a scorching crush on Nancy Hower who played Samantha Wildman, Gres' wife. :adore:

A while back I was trying imagine what Torvig sounded like, and I started to "hear" him sounding like me.
