It's very very early days yet, but so far I prefer season 2 to season 3.
ENT --> The problem with ENT wasn't its basic premise. It was the execution. Early Starfleet with nothing we take for granted on Star Trek being in place yet was a sound premise. And the best episodes took advantage of the fact that it was the 22nd Century. And the first season lived up to that premise more than the second season where most of it was just dull, dull, dull. And constantly calling out "Hey! We don't have the technology or protocols you see in the rest of Star Trek yet!" gets old after a while.
Hopefully the fact they held onto the same showrunner for the whole season this time will help in that regard. The real test will be whether they can draw the season arc to a satisfying conclusion, which is where previous seasons have struggled.
Culber has a beard.Discovery needed someone to grow a beard. Maybe Stamets or Culber.

Star Trek: ZZ Top?Lower Decks had a beard from the first episode. It just got longer as the season went on.
Except Detmer, who only grows a beard on one side of her neck. All of the females of the Discovery have to grow neckbeards for season 4.
