Section 31 plot ideas!

So, with the grand announcement that Section 31 will now be developed as a made-for-TV movie rather than a series, speculation is rampant about everything from which characters will be involved to what the storyline will be.

I'm kind of hoping that it'll have something to do with time travel that will take them to someplace more interesting than Q-apocalypse Los Angeles - like 19th century Europe! Imagine:

Act One: Time Travel to 19th-century Spain

The Section 31 crew travels back in time to stop a rogue Starfleet officer. The team is on a mission to prevent the officer from altering history and changing the timeline. However, things don't go as planned, and they end up at the annual Running of the Bulls in 19th-century Spain. Emperor Georgiou's first officer, who happens to be a Kelpian, accidentally gets trampled during the event. The chief medical officer (CMO) must race against time to heal his injuries before it's too late, and the fugitive escapes.

The B-plot here is that Emperor Georgiou has to wrestle with her overwhelming cannibalistic instinct to eat the first officer whenever he's not looking. This inner conflict adds tension to the story and explores Georgiou's struggle to control her primal instincts. Additionally, a member of the Section 31 timeship crew secretly beams a bull aboard, intending to keep it as a pet. However, the bull gets loose on board the vessel, leading to mayhem as the crew tries to contain it before it destroys the ship.

Act Two: Crisis in the 23rd century

After our heroes recover the rogue Starfleet officer and consign the bull to the vacuum of space, they return to the 23rd century, where another crisis needs averting. A Federation botanist, part of a diplomatic envoy to the Klingon Empire, accidentally mixes poison ivy in with a bouquet of Andorian Blood Flowers presented to the Klingon chancellor. Section 31 must use whatever measures are necessary to avert war with the Empire after the chancellor uses the bathroom with poison ivy hands and develops a massive rash in dishonorable areas of his body.

The B-plot in this act revolves around the Section 31 stealth ship's turbolift certificate of inspection, which has expired. The Chief Engineer is too busy getting high on drugs in the Jeffries Tube to update it. As a result, the turbolift suffers some kind of catastrophic failure, crashes through the bottom of the ship, and drifts off into space. The folks who aren't currently undercover at the Klingon summit must effect a rescue of the Section 31 turbolift car. This crisis helps deliver some cool character development for the crew trapped inside the car, especially if it's an unlikely pairing, such as Doctor Andy Soong, a
cyberneticist with Section 31, and Crewman Jenkins, the midshipman who's responsible for keeping the rocket boots worn by Emperor Georgiou's horse in working order. The two develop an unlikely friendship over their shared love of mad science as the midshipman describes the time that one of the rockets on the horse's legs failed, resulting in an out-of-control horse tumbling through the air and threatening the structural integrity of the secret Section 31 station.

Act Three: Conclusion

In the final act, the Section 31 team successfully averts war with the Klingon Empire and saves their own crew. However, as they return to their secret base, they realize that their presence in the past had unintended consequences. The timeline has been altered, making Section 31 not exist as a known, public entity with cool badges and flashy spaceships anymore, and they must race against time to fix it before irreparable damage is done, returning the integrity of the Discoverse. This twist sets up potential sequels that would allow us to continue to explore the darker side of Starfleet and push the boundaries of what we expect from a Star Trek story.

This is just a basic outline that I'll probably add to over time, but I'm curious to hear from you. What would you like to see the in the Section 31 Movie Event?

Here's another possible angle for the Section 31 movie.

"Section 31: The Sound of Terror"
Section 31 receives intel that a dangerous weapon has been developed by a rogue group of scientists that can emit a frequency so low and so powerful that it causes extreme discomfort, pain, incontinence, and even death in those exposed to it. Dubbed "The Brown Note," this weapon is feared as a potential tool for terrorists and criminals to use against entire populations.

Section 31 sends a team led by Emperor Georgiou and Lieutenant Ash Tyler to investigate the weapon and apprehend those responsible for its creation.

Their investigation leads them to a remote planet where they discover a hidden facility, run by a group of renegade scientists led by a former Starfleet officer, who have developed and perfected the Brown Note weapon. The team must infiltrate the facility, gather intel, and stop the weapon's production before it falls into the wrong hands.

As they move deeper into the facility, they discover that the scientists have also been experimenting on captured aliens, using the Brown Note to torture and extract information from them. The team is horrified and angered by these cruel and inhumane experiments and vow to put an end to the madness.

They finally reach the heart of the facility, where the Brown Note weapon is being tested. A tense battle ensues, and in the chaos, the weapon is accidentally activated, causing involuntary diarrhea, intense pain, and discomfort to everyone in the vicinity.

Emperor Georgiou, who has a history with the Brown Note from her time as overlord of the Terran Empire, manages to withstand its effects and, with the help of Lieutenant Tyler and some quick thinking, shuts down the weapon.

The team apprehends the rogue scientists, who are taken into custody, and the weapon is destroyed. Emperor Georgiou reports the successful mission to Section 31 and recommends that the team receive commendations for their bravery and quick thinking.

In the end, the team reflects on the horror of the Brown Note and the importance of preventing such weapons from falling into the wrong hands. They vow to continue their work, protecting the Federation and its citizens from all threats, both internal and external.

It's gonna be the pilot episode of the series rewritten a la TMP (possibly not so much rewritten due to the writers' strike), so a set up for the premise and a little first adventure to set the tone and roll credits.
