Some things you just can't let go
Yeah nothing strange about that. This BBS was founded to discuss a show that ran for 3 years, 35 or so years after the fact.
I can still remember quite clearly playing the trailer over and over again from the CD rom version of the 25th anni, as i waited for it's release in 1998, and i still am waiting. lol

It's worse than that. A friend worked for Interplay at the time on the Starfleet Command games. According to him, what happen with Vulcan's Fury was 1) the team was diverted onto Star Trek Pinball because Interplay needed a quick cash infusion that they hoped a quick release would bring, and 2) when that cash infusion didn't happen they released the Vulcan's Fury team and landfilled the computers. "There's nothing to salvage, nothing to resurrect," he said. "All the work is gone."
Mr. England claims that he has an early version of Secret of Vulcan Fury.
Power Records. What was released by Power Record between 1975 and 1979 were 11 short Story records by different actors. Mr. England claims that the original cast did these stories initially, but due to a contract disagreement; the original casts voices were not used. My question was why did the original cast do the voice work before they had a contract signed? I have two theories. One, The cast was under the mistaken impression that they were doing another season of TAS, then realizing their mistake asked for more money than Power Records could pay them(NBC money).
I doubt that reason and think that the cast did have a contract with Power Records, but the company could not afford to pay them, so the cast said you cannot use our work. In other words, Power Records would have needed more financial backers to pay the cast the extra money they would have demanded. My theory says that the financial backers backed out of the project after they realized they could not afford to pay them, leaving us with 22 unreleased stories. I do find it plausible for the cast to do these audio records for a children label since the cast had just finished 22 episodes for the Animated Series, a Saturday Morning children's show.
Final question. No, Mr. England does not count TOS orTAS as new material. He does say that he has a Klingon two- parter starring the original voices of Kang, Kor and William Campbell Klingon. I believe he used their voicework from that Deep Space 9 episode.
Of course, whoever scores the game would be obligated to use the TOS theme composed by Alexander Courage. It’s not Star Trek without that theme.
The problem with using the original TOS theme is that the estate of Alexander Courage isn't the only one getting a cut from that, thanks to the greed of Roddenberry.
From the time period it was made in, I would have assumed the original soundtrack would have been done as midi files. (I have a particularly nerdy interest in 90's game soundtracks) . Would be lovely if those midi files were around somewhere. I might have given it a go to play those through my old Roland SK-88 pro (old General Midi composition keyboard from the 90s) and see how it sounded, had they existed. But really anything could be used , General Midi if they did exist. Anyway, I kind of forgot about this thread.
Is there any expectation that they exist, after all those years?
Didn't stop JJ Abrams from using it in the ST09 closing credits...
