Season TWO OFFICIAL TNG Blu-Ray Discussion Thread

Incorrect. It has young Teri Hatcher in it. That, to me, is its only redeeming quality. Same is true for Ashley Judd in The Game. ;)

Teri Hatcher yes, but her bushy eyesbrows... No!

Yeah, those things could reach out and strangle a man.

Really? This is what you are going on about?

I'm not seeing the problem.

Best Buy is very frustrating.

On release day for the Indiana Jones Blu-ray box set, I went over to my local Best Buy. It wasn't there. There wasn't even a kiosk or a spot for it. I thought maybe I had the release date wrong, but it was correct.

A huge Blu-ray release, but I guess Best Buy made no effort to make it available. I went home and bought it off Amazon instead.

I'd buy it off Amazon if it wasn't for the "ships in 9 to 12 days" thing.

I can't find anywhere else to pick this up.

Is this what trying to buy some obscure foreign film feels like?

WalMart had Season One, but not Two. I see on their website it's listed at over $100, crazy.

I take back what I said about Best Buy....this time.

The one near my office had 10 copies available, but no other Star Trek TV Blu-rays. I bought it.

Amazon won't cancel my order, which hasn't shipped yet. I will have to send it back when it finally comes.

My Best Buy had enough copies of Batman for every man, woman, child, dog, cat and hamster in a 100 mile radius, but not a single Season 2.

I think I saw one Season 1 set on a shelf in the back corner with the rest of the pitiful movie selection.

I can't think of anywhere to pick this up. How sad is that? Not Best Buy, not Walmart, not Target...

I noticed that too, and I noticed there were a ton of people buying Dark Knight Rises and the trilogy box set.

Well, I said I would wait till Christmas, but decided to just get it today. I think I picked up the last copy which is nice. Anyway, I haven't opened it yet, but I noticed the stuff on the back and there were a "before" and "After" picture of the borg intruder from Q Who and I was asking myself, what is the difference between these two pictures. In Season 1, you had the effects where you could easily tell. In season 2 though, I am actually starting to wonder, what is the "DataLore" effect (Where you really notice the difference) that will have people talking? Maybe the Cloud from Time's squared, but I kind of wish they had used a different picture. I guess it was more to highlight that classic episode, so it's not a big deal.

Looking forward to seeing the special features later, especially "Make it So".

Just called a nearby Target. They never had it in stock. They only have Season 1.

Why aren't stores carrying this?

I think stores like Walmart and Target consider this more of a "specialty item," or only something for collectors.

All they care about is the more mainstream stuff.

Just checked locally here and not a single store has it. Hell, I checked wallmart.com and they still have it for $113!! Guess Ill be ordering from amazon.

Mine came today, as expected. For some reason the UPS guy took it directly to the office and hug the note on my door, rather than knocking the door and seeing if I was home. Watching "Where Silence has Lease" right now. When I'm done with Disc-1 I may go to the special features disc and soak them in, watch the MoaM commentary, etc.

Looks like CBS' crazy plan to release it just before Christmas might have paid off.

Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #117 in Movies & TV
#31 in Movies & TV > Blu-ray

Still says "Usually ships within 9 to 12 days".

TrekCore has begun posting screencaps to season 2. First up is The Child:

Did HTV use CBS-D's shot of the Enterprise warping away? (same as used in the credits)

Too much glow around the deflector and engines, and too bright, but otherwise decent:

The Enterprise actually looks pretty good in this shot. Too bad it didn't look like it consistently through season 2:

I up and ordered it from Best Buy.

Would've used Amazon instead, but that 9-12 day shipping time turned me off.

Best Buy is saying I should have it between Dec. 13-18.

Wonder if anyone can explain the lack of availability, especially after I had read that Season 1 had supposedly sold well. You'd think retailers would've wanted to have this available.
