My wife and I were watching TNG last night ("Lonely Among Us"), and decided it is just best, for us, to ignore Picard.

McCoy cured the plague, and Lower Decks takes place about 114 years after "Miri", I don't think it would make much sense for it to still be a planet full of children.

Just because McCoy was able to make it so that they don't die once they enter puberty; The kids were still aging one day for every 100 years. So 114 years later, they'd be one day older .
