Spoilers Season Finale Reveal!

Will the Enterprise appear in Discovery on season finale? is that true? I would love to see this.

I don't think we'll see it. They may namedrop it, but they won't show it. They want to end the season on a positive not, not having fans get all upset.

If they did show it, knowing fans are going to be upset no matter what they do, I'd go with this.

Burnham "we are being hailed by the enterprise"
Saru "On Screen"
Viewscreen comes on and we see Captain Lorca
<fade to black>

I don't think we'll see Prime Lorca this season, if at all.

Disco getting its ass handed to it by Klingon ships. On the Disco bridge, debris and rubble strewn, Georgiou comes to a fateful decision.
Georgiou: "Helm, prepare for ramming speed."
Helm console beeps.
Detmer: "Captain, there's another starship coming in. It's the Enterprise."
"Enterprising Young Men" theme from Abrams films begins playing as the faithfully recreated USS Enterprise drops out of warp, looking near identical to the studio model used in The Cage. Enterprise swoops into frame, flying between Disco and the Klingon ships. Captain Pike appears on Disco's viewscreen/windshield/ whatever the hell it is.
Pike: "We'll take it from here, Discovery."
More exterior shots of the Enterprise flying and swooping around the Klingon ships, firing phasers and photon torpedoes and proving to be superior to the Klingons in every way as "Enterprising Young Men" continues to play. Enterprise destroys one Klingon ship, forcing the others to retreat. Disco then flies into formation with Enterprise as both warp away.

They can combine Tupac hologram technology, a Terminator: Salvation head swap on a Disco uniform, and footage from The Cage or some other Jeffrey Hunter production (Green Hornet? The F.B.I.?) to make Pike standing amongst a group of Starfleet personnel in one of their holographic briefings.

Also, the next episode features Orion slave women. That explains why Pike is so eager to get in on the action.

If they do i agree it will be blurry where you can't see much detail. If they make ANY changes (which they have to) some people will get upset.

And if they do that some fans will feel cheated with just a tease. No matter what they do, someone is going to be upset. The people that are upset the Enterprise doesn't look EXACTLY like TOS probably abandoned Discovery a long time ago anyway.

As I posted in the other thread:

I think I just had an epiphany and decided it can't end any other way.

Somewhere in the middle of the second art or whatever, the Admiral says she has a contingency in place.

Then, in the moments leading up to the end, we find our heroes in your typical cliffhanger peril, bat'leths pointed at their necks.

Then someone's communicator beeps and crackles and we hear a muffled voice: "Discovery, This is Enterprise calling Please respond ... This Captain Christopher Pike hailing Admiral Cornwell. Please come in."

There's a close-up on SM-G's face. She smirks. A hard-cut to black.

A few reasons for this:

  • It doesn't actually show the Enterprise - instead using it as a hook for next season.
  • They don't actually have to cast Pike. They could have Greenwood or the freaking DP read the line, giving them the time to cast in the offseason. This sort of "precasting" (for lack of a better term) is done in TV shows all the time.
  • Similarly, they have ample time to tweak the Connie model - plus it goes on to next season's budget.

There's also the option of having Spock read the line - under the pretense he's pulling double-duty at comms. This would make Micheal's reaction more genuine.

But of course, in that case, it'd have to be something more like: "DISCOVERY, THIS IS ENTERPRISE CALLING PLEASE RESPOND ... THIS IS LIEUTENANT SPOCK HAILING ADMIRAL CORNWELL. PLEASE COME IN!"

And if they do that some fans will feel cheated with just a tease. No matter what they do, someone is going to be upset. The people that are upset the Enterprise doesn't look EXACTLY like TOS probably abandoned Discovery a long time ago anyway.

Sometimes it seems that they are the most faithful followers of the show, noting every discrepancy or 'violation' and reporting their findings and dismay immediately following every episode's release.

And, unrelated, what the hell is up with the Tellarites?! This show is trash. How do I renew my subscription?

I don't see the episode ending on a cliffhanger of the sort people are suggesting. The showrunners said the Klingon war would be "resolved" by the last episode. This means we're not going to see the Enterprise or any other ship rushing to the rescue to save Discovery when it's under attack from the Klingons. There might be a cliffhanger, but it will be after the season arc is resolved and they have had space for a few epilogue character bits.

yeah I expect more small universe syndrome, Starfleet is tiny, the Enterprise will just happen to be in the area...

You make it sound like they just got the idea of showing the Enterprise, and not something they've had going since the beginning of production.
Planning and deploying are two very different things.

If a Connie does show up, would anyone want it to be the Enterprise?
Anything else would be like getting Mr. Rock in your Christmas stocking.

Of course it would be there. We're talking about what could potentially be the largest military engagement in Starfleet's history. For the flag - and what is assumably the fleet's most technologically advanced ship - no to be there would be even sillier, especially in a world where travel time/distance is kind of arbitrary.

Well there are only 12 connies (though being 10 years before TOS, there could be more), so if Starfleet orders Heavy Cruiser backup, there is a 1 and 12 chance if they only send one.

The whole season has been building to a Connie reveal.........I feel like we will see her and maybe Pike. And the fanboy rage will be released!

That "fanboy rage" is the reason i think they will not show the Enterpise. I hope they dont show it .... and if they do, i hope she will be far away and just a few pixels big...
