season 8 wishlist

I want to see the Doctor Go back to the Silurian Era, yes I know it's not really the Silurian era, having to lead his human around on a leash, telling Clara not to eat the meat on a stick being sold in the bizarre because it's people, and then the sky begins to be filled up by a huge meteor intent on destroying all life on the planet which is when Clara says "What he hell is that?!" and the Doctor replies "Oh that? That's Adric."

I think it would be nice if they would create some more 'new' threats. I'm honestly getting a bit tired of seeing the same races pop up nearly all the time. The Doctor talks about how there are sooooo many alien races out there. And yet we see a lot of the same ones. Be kind of nice if the next season the Doctor and Clara encountered some new threats. It was nice to see the GI as an over-reaching threat - and I wouldn't mind seeing him maybe try to manipulate some other heretofore unseen baddies. Surely they can create a villain that would be as iconic as the Daleks or Cybermen or the Sontarans. Sure we had a few 'new' ones, but it'd be nice if we didn't see the Daleks or Cybermen at all.

I agree. It's always surprising to me when people say they want they Daleks to return. They've always seemed like such boring, one dimensional villains to me.

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like Clara either because I'd be ok with seeing her go. That being said, I'd like to see the Doctor traveling with multiple companions with overlapping tenures.

As for the rest of my list:

-Story arcs or at least season long themes
-Any kind of Torchwood mention...in season 2 of the new show the Doctor kept stumbling over Torchwood no matter where in space and time he was. Now it's like they never existed
-Return of the Master
-UNIT
-High concept scifi ideas (as opposed to just bad guys shooting at good guys)

Have you tried watching Eve Myles' new show "Frankie" about a district nurse with a heart of gold who tries so hard to save everyone despite the fact that they have IQ's of about 20?

It's something my Nana would think is quality programming finally.

Well we did see UNIT a bit and I think it's been leaked they'll be in the 50th Anniversary special but yeah what happened to Torchwood? I mean I know after Canary Wharf they were pretty messed up, but its like they all but disappeared in the Doctor's universe after the show ended.

I'm sort of iffy towards the return of the Master. I mean he's a classic villain and honestly I think he got a fine send off in End of Time so I dunno if they need to reopen that can of worms all over again.

Although I would not mind another 'evil' Timelord. The Rani would be interesting to see come back in a refreshed form. Plus it would be nice to see him go up against a female villain again that WAS the big bad not just a lackey of whatever big bad was out there.

I think if anything I really would like to see more 'old' threats of the Time Lords come around. Maybe deciding once and for all to do something now that Gallifrey isn't around to stop them.

Mostly I'd like to see some new races - or even races we've seen before but never really got fleshed out. Daleks are sort of over used. Cybermen are slowly starting to wear out their welcome. "Delete... delete..." "Exterminate! Exterminate!" Why not shit and get off the pot and just bring in the Borg somehow. LOL "Resistance is futile... resistance is futile."

Or I wouldn't mind seeing more 'human' threats, really sort of do more morality plays not simply the human looking alien vs the really alien looking aliens or the really asshole military guys.

And I wouldn't really mind more looking back at his past life, before his travels, what made him want to become the Doctor. I think that would be something new and interesting and frankly, it could be pretty cool if done right.

I guess I am the only one who has no desire to see Torchwood reappear. I did and didn't like the show. (I found it hard to understand half the characters even with CC on ). Though Captain Jack appearing wouldn't be bad. (oh can River join to : ) ).

Though I do want to see Unit again.

I do like the Daleks and Cyberman but I would like to see some of the Classic aliens to. I have been watching some classic episodes on the internet. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the ones they ran into. I also want to see what modern makeup/costumers would do to update the looks of them.

I would like them to interject a little bit more personality or something to Clara. She isn't bad but I just don't love her like I did with other companions. Perhaps in the 50th and the christmas episode will change my mind.

If it's any help, I'm pretty sure those two kids she looks after are also Clara... At some point we are going to meet the infinite council of crosstime Clara's, and they are going to lay down the law.

Actually, such an assembly would still be SHADOW of the original Clara, but I'd still be interested in hearing what they have to PROCLAIM to keep the Universe safe after they saved the Doctor and the rest of their ongoing lives became rudderless.

Much as I disliked the ends of Series 5 and 6, I want to see them get a proper ending. Neither of those stories actually ended, they just kind of stopped.

I don't know if we need a more serious Doctor but certainly a more alien one. I would like to see a serious Dalek story though one where they actually exterminate somebody. And a straight 13 eps. would be nice too.

*Idris Elba, Damien Molony, Jason Fleyming, or other acotrs I deem worthy to become the 12th doctor.
*A moderate amount of past references, both from old and nu who.
*More classic villains.
*No mid series gap.
*The sonic cane.
*Maybe a brief return of an old companion (classic or new series).
*The same format as the RTD series, with about three or so two parters, the rest being one parters, and a mild series long overarc like RTD did, but not like Moffat did with whole episodes being donated to the arc in the middle o the series.
*Stop trying to impress Americans, be a bit more British. I feel Moffat's era has been sliding slowly to try and pull in more of an American audience.
*Maybe even a three parter?
*Maybe the return of the silence for an episode or even a two parter.
*Bring the daleks back to their former pre Moffat glory.
*If we're lucky, maybe another multi doctor arc. Ooh, maybe a flashback episode for Paul McGanns regeneration. In the 96 film, he was dressed smartly, polite, and romantic, but in this episode, it'd take place soon after the time war, and after going through the savage war, he has become a bit more like the 9th doctor. Plus he'd wear his 2010 redesign outfit as that'd fit the character better for this episode. Wouldn't go out in too much of a big bang with classic villains, huge explosions and all, would be a bit more humble. Have the current doctor as narrator.

I'll probably think of more at some point. ;)

*Tommy Wiseau as the Doctor who falls for Clara.
*In a masterstroke of symbolism, someone point out on screen that the sky is not blue it's yellow and orange and pink and stuff.
*Elderly male Doctor possibly with a cane.
