She wasn't removed, the actress quit... so they had to do something.

I just bought Season 7 today as I missed most of the episodes, so I know Ezri least of all. I've only watched the first 4 episodes so far, and 'Afterimage' is the only one with any good scenes for her. Nicole deBoer is very good at playing cute.

I missed Jadzia, as I'd grown quite attached to her. She knew how to let her hair down, which was far more interesting than the wise owl she was trying to be early on. Ezri was perhaps a more interesting, better acted character, but I didn't enjoy how she was rammed down our throats. It was the last season, dammit, and there was more than enough for the writers to focus on. I would have preferred Jadzia to stay alive, but maybe reassigned somewhere. She could then have popped up for the finale maybe?
Or if the writers were so determined to get a new host, then perhaps Ezri could have been recurring?
