Season 5- The most inconsistent?

I dislike the humanization of the borg in I, Borg. I wish they had left the borg as the ultimate villian. I also wish the writers and producers had the guts to follow through with the annihilation idea for the borg. I realize that type of solution would never be contemplated on a Next Gen show but it would have been a shocker.

Not sure why Masterpiece Society gets so much hate. Unification is okay but I'm not sure I ever need to see it again. Darmok? Whatever. I have a soft spot for The Inner Light though. That episode strikes an emotional chord with me. Not sure why but I like it.

Perhaps on reason why some consider season 5 inconsistent is because not only wwre they celebrating the 25th anniversary of the franchise, which probably gave the writers a bit of a high and maybe even arrogance in writing some scripts, but that was also when Gene Roddenberry passed away. I am sure that affected the staff.
