Season 3 Theatrical Event Date Revealed

I've had my tickets for months! I can't wait for tomorrow night. One of my favorite episodes of my favorite Trek on the big screen? Thank you all mighty Trek gods and goddesses! :techman: I hope everyone has a great time at the theater.

TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT! YESSS! :D :D :D

I'm planning to get there a half hour early for good seats. Hopefully everyone that is going will have a great time!

Everybody should post what it was like going to this theater event! What were the people there like?:)

Yep from TrekCore's review of the Blu-ray disc:

Despite the fact that Part 1 was always designed to be a cliffhanger, the feature-length edit bridges the two parts very effectively and maintains pacing and excitement. After Riker's famous line, "Mr. Worf, Fire" we cut to the weaponized Enterprise deflector dish firing at the Borg cube. Part 2 then continues with Worf's "The Borg ship is undamaged."

I have my ticket :) TrekCore says there will be a Season 4 preview included :D

Ah, good - in line with the old VHS version as I was hoping for.

Still annoyed I won't get to see this in the UK - will just have to be content with the disc.

This is how the two parts are cut together for the feature:

They've made it completely seamless, so there's not even a fade out and you don't get any of the DUN-DUN-DUN music at all. Hmmm...

(Thanks to Trekcore for the video.)

That's perfect! Can't wait to see it tonight.

As a bonus I have the day off tomorrow so I can go out for a few beers afterwards to talk about it with my buddy.

I wish these screenings were available in the UK.

Instead, I have ordered the Blu-ray and am visiting a friend who has a projector and a surround sound setup. It will have to do! :)

In all honesty it looks better on my TV at home than it does on the big screen. They don't use the same projectors as they do for regular movies. It's just a kick seeing it on the big screen.

I think it still works well enough. It's not as dramatic, but then the affects of the beam are so inconsequential that it's probably for the best that it not be hyped up as much beforehand.

The thing I don't like about this edit is we lose Ron Jones's score, which helped make this a great cliffhanger. I guess it was inevitable that it had to happen this way, but I wonder if they had tried to keep it in.

Still looking forward to tonight and seeing the bonus content and the Season 4 trailer, as well as BOBW of course. Might end up coming home and watching Family afterwards.

Yeah that score was great, but technically it's no longer a "cliffhanger" anymore so I think it makes sense not to have it.

Although that being said, for all future viewings I'm definitely going to stick with the original version. Because ultimately I just think these work better as separate episodes than as one movie.

Got my tickets, and looking forward to it! Going to wear my Niners baseball cap from "Take Me Out to the Holosuite" and see if anyone recognizes it ;)

When I was picking up my tickets some guy was trying to buy tickets and he couldn't because its sold out here.

Tonight is going to be a full on Trek night. I already have my ticket for BOBW, and I'm going to get my ticket (Already pre-ordered) for Star Trek Into Darkness. I'm also leaving soon for dinner and then the movie.

And? Did you?

Oh, how i wish they'd do these events here in Germany too!!
It's been such a long time since i've seen my favourite Trek-Crew on the big screen. Too long...:(

Just got back from valley view cinemark. House was packed! Also had a rep from fathom there taking pictures. BOBW looked great! The 2 seconds from SD was not too bad, imo.

Line of the day was from Guinan: Did you f*ck the program? -- just about died at that one!
