Season 3 Theatrical Event Date Revealed

Just checked back on the Fathom Events website yesterday and they have added a whole bunch of new theaters since I last checked. Bought myself a pair of tickets. :D

Just got myself two tickets to the Times Square screening. Now I just have to find someone to go with!

Some have said this would've been better as a movie. Now, we get to see it as a movie in a real theater! I wonder if the aspect ratio will be the same?

Just six weeks away!

Something cool while we wait.

Go Borg Yourself... Wth The New Star Trek Facebook App

Ever want to be in the collective? Weird question, right? Cybernetic implants, a hive mind, no individuality, what's not to like? Well here's your chance to do the next best thing. To celebrate the launch of Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season Three [Blu-ray] and the special "Best of Both Worlds" theater event, CBS just released its "Be a Borg" app on Facebook.

It's simple, choose the borg drone picture that best fits your personality (there's nine total), upload your picture, and viola... you're assimilated. You can share the pic with friends. As they say, resistance is futile... Sorry.

I'm really excited for this.

I'm actually watching TNG through for the first time so this will be my first time watching these episodes.

The aspect ratio will be the same. It can't be changed without cropping.
I'm curious as to why the remasterers for these blu-rays opted to keep the aspect ratio the same rather than go wide like they did with TOS. Is it because of the way TNG was shot, that too much important stuff would get cropped out? Or would it be too costly doing it for 7 seasons? Regardless, the remastered Season 3 shots we've seen look fantastic!

TOS remained 4x3. When it's broadcast some stations choose to air it in widescreen via cropping. I believe some of the sfx shots may have been rendered in widescreen for TOS, but that was because they were completely remade in CG, whereas TNG uses the original film negatives.

I forgot about that; and no wonder since it was un-stickied. I just tire of people asking the same thing over and over again about the aspect ratio and everyone explaining it again. Maybe we should make a new one or update that old one.

I'm in Oz but I'll be in San Francisco on this date. Anyone from here going in the Bay Area? I'm staying in Berkeley.

I'll be there just to see how my theater screws it up this time. My favorite is still the season one event. Near the end of the Lore episode, the sound was replaced with the audio for their weekend kids' event. Just as Lore kicked Data in the head, this little girl voice exclaimed "And that's how we roll!" It took the audience several minutes to stop hysterically laughing; I had tears from it!

I'm going but I'm going to be across the bay from Berkley.
I've read this sentence several times, and still fail to understand. Across the Bay from Berkeley is SF, which is where Mitty and I were talking about...

... Anyhow, I think I'll invite a certain lovely lady to this event. I hope she'll agree to be my star date.

Ok, I read her thing as going to be in the Bay Area, and will go watch it in Berkeley. I misconstrued that and I apologize.
