Season 3 Finale

The writing staff pulled off a gutsy move when they made the cliffhanger... Enterprise still hadn't been renewed for a forth season. Fortunately we were blessed with another great season despite more Trek Nazi stuff.

Low ratings prompted UPN to cancel Star Trek: Enterprise on February 2, 2005, but the network allowed the series to complete its fourth season. The final episode aired on May 13, 2005. After a run of four seasons and 98 episodes, it was the first Star Trek series since the original Star Trek to have been cancelled by its network rather than finished by its producers.

^ YES! I feel the same way. It's really frustrating that they canceled the show just when it was getting good.

^thirded. But that's TV for you. Hasn't Bakula said something about it having as much (if not more) to do with internal politics/power struggles within the TV TPTB rather than the usually quoted "falling ratings"?

Loved the xindi story arc probally the best story on any trek series. I can remember the 1st time I saw it I was in the end of my seat the last few episodes and to finish with space Nazis even better.!!!! Season 3 was the best season for enterprise I kinda miss it always liked it !!!

I read a compelling rumor last year that TPTB decided way back at the end of season 2 to axe Enterprise, wait out Rick Berman's contract and then reboot the ailing franchise. Hence Trek's return so soon after it's demise.

Gotta love conspiracy theories!

Funny, I was just watching Storm Front. I remember groaning at the season 3 cliffhanger; I'd really enjoyed the episode, and then that just came out of nowhere.

Still, I don't think the end product was that bad. I loved the intro to Part II, and there wasn't anything particularly bad in either episode. Rather offputting to see an actor so recognisable from The Sopranos in Star Trek, though...

Playing a mafia dude, yeah.

Where I lived UPN wasn't carried by the TV networks but luckily a near-by CBS or ABC or something would play Enterprise at midnight on Saturday evening/ Sunday morning. So needless to say, it was always rather late when my dad and I watched a new episode of Enterprise. We were really shocked at the abrupt and random ending of Zero Hour but the real fun didn't start until the next day. When I woke up I wasn't entirely certain if I had dreamed the ending to Zero Hour or not. My dad, who had reached the blissful part of aging where you can't always remember what happened yesterday, wasn't sure either.

So we dug out the VHS (hah!) of the episode we had recorded and watched the last half again and confirmed that it was in fact not a dream.

I love it!!!

I know I've had some Trek dreams where I spent quite a bit of time wondering if it was an ep I remembered or a dream. ENT was on very late here too, with 100 phone sex ads every five minutes and very difficult to watch (for me). I fell asleep a lot. I didn't fall in love with it until I watched it all in my own time, commercial free.
