Spoilers Season 2 Trailers, Previews, and Promos

Don't have a youtube upload yet, but the trailer for Episode 5 confirms the woman at the end of Episode 4 is Renee Picard. She is on a space mission, and it looks like Q is using Adam Soong to get rid of her. Orla Brady’s character is there to protect her, guiding her life. She’s also doing an American accent.

That promo gives us a lot of hints but also raises a lot of questions. I have a feeling the next episode may answer some questions and raise a bunch more.

For one, If Q kills Renee Picard in 2024, does that wipe Jean-Luc Picard from existence? Why would Q be trying to wipe Picard from existence when it looked like he was trying to help Picard in episode 1? Or is Renee not a direct descendant of Jean-Luc Picard? Or maybe Q is just pretending to try to kill her to push Picard?

So is the change that Renee dies, the mission fails, which causes humanity to give up on space exploration for decades and turn inward, which leads to the confederation?

If the Watcher is there to protect Renee Picard, does that mean she failed in the Confederation timeline? Is Jean-Luc going to help her succeed and save Renee, thus restoring the true timeline? I still wonder how the Watcher fits with Laris.

Vault door behind (faux) Laris giving us further confirmation of the "Assignment: Earth" tie-in.
Next spin-off? ASSIGNMENT: EARTH at last? (and I know there are campaigns to do Rios/Stargazer and Seven/Fenris Rangers already!!)

So is Jurati getting assimilated or something else? I thought the Queen's nanoprobes were suppressed.

So the robot girl is back next week. How does that work?
I saw a theory she's Soong's daughter, and her image some how was passed down the line (including in Data's brain) and eventually became Soji and Dahj.

She's hugging someone who might be Soong in the trailer

Considering she’s dead…
Paramount has her past recordings from various iterations of Trek. Plus...........

It turns out that just before her death, Barrett recorded an entire library of phonetic sounds for future usage. It's so thorough that it's already been used, most recently in J.J. Abrams' 2009 Star Trek reboot. Technically, Barrett could be the voice of Starfleet for eternity.

She's a great-Great cousin, he mentions her in Episode 1 in the Academy speech.

Just to add to it, a "great-great cousin" is a person who is four generations removed from a common ancestor. So Jean-Luc Picard is not a direct descendant of Renée Picard, however, they share a common ancestry.
