Didn't spot a thread on this, but apologies if it was picked up in the General Discussion thread. Like with the Lower Decks soundtrack a few months back, it's been released ahead of the finale, so potentially spoiler-y track titles towards the end...

I'm still somewhat peeved with the way Russo reworked the main title for season 2, but it does sound a bit better in the clear.

Thanks! Available lossless on Apple Music as well. "Honoring the deal" is where we're at after this week's episode, so tracks 24-27 are likely next week's season finale. 2-3 clips with the classic Trek theme cadences, so I presume we'll finally be seeing some ships again!

Ugh, it's missing all my favorite cues from Episode 1...
- The music on earth when Picard tells Raffi "Same ship? Keeping him under your wing" to the end of the scene
- The music when Rios sees 7 of 9 on the viewscreen and says "What are you doing here? What the hell did you do to my ship?"
- The music at the end when Rios says "Broadcast fleetwide. Shields Up!"

The music in the season premiere felt so cinematic to me, and we only get three tracks.

I didn't notice that episode 9 had different end credits

the track 'Second Chances' has a lot of the first contact theme in it.

"Guardian at The Gate" and "Second Chances" make me think that we'll see Georgio materialize in and save the day...

I'm predicting "Second Chances" is either Elnor coming back to life or Picard reuniting with Laris in the 25th century.

I’m thinking the latter is more likely, however the first contact theme at the beginning of the track has me intrigued.

Also, a track called “The Travelers”.. is the Traveler coming back with Wesley? ;)

Sooooooo...

In the first episode of the season, the First Contact theme was played in the background in the scene between Raffi and Picard at Starfleet Academy before she goes off to the Excelsior. The TNG theme is later played when Jurati greets Picard on the Stargazer Bridge.

Oh wow! I’ve been waiting for this soundtrack I’m going to get it now! I’m currently sat in my car before a gym session so can’t listen to it all until later today, but I will listen to the opening credits before I go and have my workout. :bolian:

*EDIT*
WOW that opening credits score sounded immense on my cars sound system! :adore:

I have listened to the rest of the tracks at the end of the album. I think that they might be from the ‘grand finalé’ as I don’t recognise the music from any of the episodes so far. It’s almost like they have changed the style of the music for this episode and made it a bit more ‘traditional’ Star Trek like. I don’t mean Berman era ‘sonic wallpaper’ traditional soundtrack btw, I mean TNG movie quality Trek rather than TV series quality (which is still great, I have those albums too :D).

Without giving too much away, which isn’t easy for me to do unless you want me to record myself humming the tracks, the orchestra has really upped their game. Absolutely beautiful tracks, I think that something quite deep and meaningful might be happening when they play in the episode next week as they sound quite emotional and epic, yet at the same time almost showing a personal touch reflecting the situation that the characters who must be talking at the time are finding themselves in.

Track 23 starts off quite upbeat but eventually becomes a bit more sweeping and subtly orchestral, it is quite mellow but I think that something might be being discussed between friends. It might be playing during the final act for a certain pair of characters?

Track 24 starts off softly, like something is happening in the scene that might build up to an emotional conclusion, highlighted by some familiarity in the music at the end of this track.

Track 25 is where things start to get a bit emotional between some of the characters by the sounds of it. The track starts off subtly and has some moments which probably show that a deep conversation is going on? It might be quite a long conversation by the sounds of it, which definitely gets emotional towards the end.

Track 26 begins with a lot of tension and horror film like music, so I think that something bad is happening as this track plays. But this only lasts for about a minute, the music then becomes a lot more adventure like, yet still with touches of mild peril. I think that the action might be ramping up here. There may even be a life or death moment involved, though a reassuringly beautiful orchestral score seems to show that this situation is resolved successfully.

Track 27 is where we really get treated. :bolian:

Track 28 is a bit of ‘jazz’ music, not from the finalé.

Track 29 isn’t from the finalé either, it’s Jurati singing that decisive song.

No epic end credits for the season finale though, just standard Picard end credits fair.

Unfortunately I have been listening to this album on my phone as I don’t have a sound system, but the tracks still sound great! I will be playing it again all week to and from work on my car speakers where it sounds a lot better with multiple speakers located around the vehicle in surround sound. It will make a change being able play some NEW epic Star Trek music for a change rather than the First Contact and ‘Best of’ Soundtracks etc. over and over again. :bolian:

I give it 9 out of 10.
