Searching for a specific photo of "Balok"

That "status board" was first used on Delta Vega in the second pilot. It was repurposed in "Corbomite" before eventually ending up in engineering.

It was also used in the Transporter Room, in "Dagger of the Mind," to give the operator something to turn his back for when Van Gelder is creeping up on him.

That’s right! And then never seen there again. I really wish they had come up with a better way to have intruders/hostiles gain access to the transporter room and beam off the ship (see also Space Seed and City). Having the room conveniently unmanned in Battlefield didn't work either. The transporter room was a pretty important element and needed to be at least plausibly secure. I like the way it's used in Day of the Dove.

I took a friend's advice and decided to recreate that water slide decal shot using Poser. I have a "reasonable" Balok puppet mesh modeled by someone named "Bluto". I tried to match the angle, the general lighting source and positioned a plane mapped with a texture of the Delta Vega systems status board. Given the water slide decal is almost square, I had to reveal a bit more to the sides so it would properly fit the 3 by 4 ratio of the screen on tricorder digital model.

The Balok mesh was not modeled to open his mouth, so I had to "make do".

Here's how it it looks when mapped onto the tricorder model.

Yes, @T'Bonz, I realize this is arguably better suited for the fan art sub-forum, but since I posted my query here in the TOS section, I thought it reasonable to present the goal stemming from my original request.

I like it. Unsure as to how this bgean, though. Is Balok taking over tricorder screens to communicate threats now?
