'SeaQuest DSV' the underwater competitor to TNG

can only remember two maybe three episodes of seaquest.
one was where they fight a robot submarine type thing run by a program based off bridger's brain or something.

second one was when they found an Atlantis helmet and sword which made some of the crew nutty.

and the third one was when a group of people get a older submarine and start sinking whaling ships or something think it was piloted by bridger's wife or something. been so long since I've seen any of them.

think the series had promise but to be honest I remember feeling it was a underwater star trek but with limited ideas on what to do in the sea

I watched it first run 1993-1996, it did remind me of NG. It was a bold attempt of Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment producing what had episodes in the second season for better or worse like that of Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea.

SeaQuest first season was filmed at Universal Studios Los Angeles and the second & third season were filmed at Universal Studios (Orlando)Florida.

1st Season ...TNG appeared to be it's inspiration
2nd Season ...Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (Take THAT Irwin Allen)
3rd Season ...maybe DS9, I'm not that sure..it did end abruptly though..

I have a nostalgic fondness for Seaquest. They used to show it over here on Saturday afternoons. You'd have Seaquest, Baywatch, Gladiators on ITV and then switch over to BBC1 for Lois & Clark!

Wesley, Lucas - Never really cared for 'child genius' characters, always found Jake Sisko to be emminently more likeable, and believable.

Oh yes. I remember THAT well. As much as I wanted to see Lois & Clark, I'd tape both that and SeaQuest, at the same time but watched SeaQuest first since it was new, and watched the Lois & Clark tape the next day.

I picked up Lois & Clark a few years ago on DVD (HMV were knocking them out for £10 per season). Sad to say, I've not felt compelled to actually watch them yet though! I remember really enjoying the first season and then subsequent years not being as good, but still fun enough.

I've done the same with Seaquest, got the first two seasons on DVD (sadly no sign of the third appearing!). Watched the pilot and then kind of lost interest again.

Ah well, one day!
