Might help to be stoned.Zardoz is a real treat for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.
I'm a fan of NSNA, also. I would love to see it re-scored, correcting it's only real flaw.So many great movies. Even Zardoz has finally grown on me the last few years. I know I’m in the minority here, but my fav Connery Bond film is Never Say Never Again. He just carried off a middle-aged Bond so well. I’m now the same age he was when he made it and I really get it.
Dude was a woman-beater and a generally crummy human being. But he had a wonderful screen presence.
Watched it with my 15 year old son tonight. He turned to me after it ended and said “that was an intense movie. I really liked it.”I just watched Hunt for Red October tonight. It was a good film with a hell of a climax. That's how you do low key thriller, with so many things happening at once but still being really easy to follow. It did get a little slow in some parts and it might have been a little long, but Connery was great in this one.
I don't know that he would get it, I remember he ill-advisedly took LXG IIRC because he blew chances to be in Matrix and LOTR because he didn't see the appeal. He didn't see the appeal of LXG either but he didn't want to miss another opportunity.Does anyone know what Sean thought of those SNL sketches? Did he think they were funny?
That was classy.Daniel Craig pays tribute to Sean
RIP and thank you for a beautiful body of work.
This is sad. Not unexpected, because he had been ill for quite a while, but very sad. He had an incredible stature and presence as an actor and he essentially created the screen version of Bond. And he was so perfect as the elder Dr Jones-- whenever I wish that there had been more Indy movies over the years, his presence in them is part of the wish. And there was that unique, and instantly recognizable, voice.
A Vesper Martini toast to Connery, Sean Connery.![]()

I chose Highlander to watch as my tribute movie last night.Sean Connery will never really die. It's a kind of magic.
