Scott Bakula should play Borg King in ST XI

Isn't there already something shown in "In a Mirror Darkly" during the series that states he was present at the 1701's launch, at the age of about 144, holding on until he could see her off then dying in his sleep or the next day?

Besides, I'd rather have a 25th Century story, pretty much a stand alone where we see the Borg King to some capacity only for it to be a heavily aged and cybernetisised* Decker.

(*Yes I know that isn't a word).

Yes, that was part of Archer's bio in that episode, although that particular part was not on screen. It would be nice to canonize it in Star Trek XI...even if all we see is an old man sitting in a seat clearly reserved for Jonathan Archer. the character doesn't even have to be Bakula or have a speaking part. Abrams is known to throw out curve balls like that, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see Easter eggs like that connected to all the series.

The Borg King being an assimilated Matt Decker? Interesting idea. Perhaps the planet killers were Borg toys? Or...a type of Borg wormhole that sucked Decker in?

OR...OR...perhaps it's Will Decker, after he joined with V'Ger. I know they were different actresses, but maybe the Borg Queen is really Ilia?

As long as they don't have him a wheelchair with a 22nd Century ear trumpet shouting "I've still got all my own teeth you know!" and holding up the ceremony...

It was an idea someone else came up with that V'ger was the origin of the Borg, and that at the heart of their first city on the original home world is a massive room with Decker connected to it directly through cybernetics and kept alive indefinitely, linked to the entire collective, and that Ilia was the first Borg Queen.

Not sure I'd want to see that though, Ex Machina gave them all a better ending.

blank expression, zombie like stare - yep - Scott Bakula is the man for the job.

Scott Bakula as the Borg King? :wtf:

In Star Trek XI? :wtf: :wtf:

Makes sense? :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

Your doing a parody of just how silly people can get over this movie?

Yeah -- But we will only see Bakula from the mid-torso on down, since the biological "living" waist and legs of Borg King frequently will be detached and re-attached to an android upper torso and head.

The upper half will be played by Sean Kenney
.

Sounds like a plan.

I think the borg should only be a cameo and Scotty should say "BORG OFF!" because it sounds a bit like "BOG OFF" which is an English swear word.
