Most complaints about Cameron, it seems, are about his dialogue, characters, and basically, the script.
So if someone else were to write the script and he were to ONLY direct, perhaps that would be the movie all camps would enjoy? Depending on the script, of course.
But as a director, he really is VERY good. Professional, able to get some great work from his actors, technically as proficient as it gets, and really quite creative.
It's gotta be him.
