Eh sorry, I enjoy those old movies but you stack them up to Solaris, Star Wars, CETTK, Alien, Andromeda Strain, etc, in the 70s and they really don't hold up well. The 2000s were a real comeback for good SF after the nihilistic and dark 90s.
