This week's contest is devoted to characters who have come back from the dead--either figuratively or literally. They may have come back from the dead, their corpse has re-animated, they were thought to be dead or it seemed certain they were dead but, *surprise*, they're back.

Kai "the spy" 1--Valeria; Conan the Barbarian

Kai "the spy" 2--The Master; Doctor Who

dodge 1--Sara Lance, Arrow. Resurrected via Lazarus Pit.

dodge 2--Harry Kim, Voyager. Dead, a "quantum duplicate" continues on.

od0_ital 1--Spock uses Vulcan Death Grip on Kirk, Star Trek, "The Enterprise Incident."

od0_ital 2--Spock Resurrected, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock

Avro Arrow 1--Captain John Sheridan, Babylon 5. Went to Z'ha'dum, died & came back.

Avro Arrow 2--Commander Shepard, Mass Effect. Died and was resurrected by xenophobic terrorist organization.

tharpdevonport 1--Buffy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Her second back-from-the-dead moment.

tharpdevonport 2--Brian, Family Guy. Dies but saved through time-travel.

I'm going to spoiler-code this one, just so I don't inadvertently ruin it for anyone:

And you could have almost filled this contest entirely with Trek references, especially the Original Series, which used this trope often. But if I had to pick just one, I would pick the true hero of the Original Series, the central character of the show, who was the foundation of the Enterprise crew, always there through thick and thin, binding the crew through camaraderie into a single, cohesive unit.

I refer, of course, to Mr. Leslie.

Died from having every red blood corpuscle drained from his body. Body said, "**** that noise", made more. Showed up for his duty shift the very next day... 15 minutes early.

This is not meant as a criticism, but rather is just an honest question brought up by the inclusion of Yoda & co. Would being a ghost count as coming back to life?

I actually hadn't thought that much about it. @auntiehill specified not being dead anymore in her original post, so maybe there's a loophole about them not being alive again, but merely not dead?! I'm no expert, do ghosts qualify as undead? On the other hand, auntie went on to qualify the zombies from The Walking Dead, who are not undead, but actually dead. But also living. Living dead. Also, one of auntie's examples was Starbuck from NuBSG, who just disappears at the very end, so was she a ghost? Brian from Family Guy was saved via time travel, so was he ever dead at all? Dammit, this is more complicated than I thought.
