The important fact to remember about the above statement is that like every other form of life that follows water to the clean watering hole reversing the path backwards will eventually lead to another clean watering hole.
Think of it this way. You have a large volume of water, such as is found on Neptune. The water might be not potable to humans and other life to drink on Earth but as the water flows from the planet and reaches other points such as Earth, the harmful contaminants could be filtered out making it drinkable.
I'm not saying that water flows like a river through the Universe. What I am saying is that water being present in the Universe would function similar to how water being filtered on Earth is. Meaning that somewhere out there in the trillions of stars there are Uranus and Neptune like planets that have toxic water but because of the their magnetic poles turning off an on that water on a planet closer to their sun could be drinkable.

If the process of turning off the magnetic field of Uranus is part of the superionic process then perhaps the superionic process could be reverse engineered to turn off the magnetic fields of particles. The particles that are attracted to a ships hull as it travels faster and faster and collects more particles thus increasing the ships mass that faster the ship travels. Turning off the magnetic field of particles could possibly allow a ship to travel faster than is currently achievable.
