As a long time Star Trek fan starting with TOG in 1966 (yes I'm pretty old), I wonder how many fans fantasize a real future like Gene Roddenberry envisioned - a future of peace and exploration. Well, if we wait for our political leaders to take us there, we will be waiting a looong time. As I age, I realize more and more our future depends on us. We must take the initiative and create that future ourselves.
