Science in Spore Drive

Finishing off a presentation with the SD Short of labeling it technobabble or %^#%, what arguments might you make to show the unphysical nature of it?

You'd have to demonstrate panspermia on a galactic scale with quantum-entanglement evidence to possibly show proof of a single living organism whose links could not exist in the physical universe. The mushrooms from 4 different quadrants of the galaxy would then be applied to a single pizza and taste-tested by a party of astrophysicists, mycologists and Mirror Gordon Ramsay (who is actually a really nice, calm, fellow).

It's still goofy, but that's the best I could come up with.

I was asking for rational arguments to refute the SD, such as you can not entangle n object the mass of the Discovery.

The best I can come up with, technobabblewise, is some sort of relationship with (living?) fluidic space from Voyager, with spores having some sort of affinity, coupling somehow with different regions of fluidic space as it "overlays" our space.

Fluidic space is also probably home to this: http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Space_amoeba

Mushrooms are typically saprophytic, so what dead or decaying organic matter is the cosmic 'shroom digesting - the brains of tripping TV writers?

The multiverse mushrooms process energy only? How Dsc mushrooms connect to those is unknown. I agree just technobabble,but one still could come up with technical reasons why it would not work.

When it comes to STD, the only thing needed is a bong...

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

But in seriousness, if they're spores then there's a giant mushroom somewhere spewing them every time it sneezes. Is space really a void filled with helium and other gases, whether inert or noble or flatulent... or is the use of "spore" a mere metaphor?

I do love how the purely organic mushroom spores survive being injected into a reaction chamber of plasma being bombarded with pure gamma radiation from a matter/antimatter reaction, the combined temperature of which would be in excess of well over 100 million celcius with a dense magnetic flux, fluid motion etc that would all destroy organic matter faster than anything.

But spore magic!
